I acquired the TA-30 head because I didn't want to drag around another heavy amp, and the head would also give me some flexibility with speakers. After trying both open and closed back speaker cabinets, decided to remain with the open design. I settled on a Lonestar 1X12, because of the awesome bottom end I can get with my telly and even the strat. Since I am already the happy owner of an old 87 fifty cal plus, I can also plug into that speaker. The two speakers sound slightly different, giving me instant tone flexibility, depending on the venue. Or, if needed, I can run them both at the same time.
