Controlling V25 MkIV channel from guitar pots

I like to use guitar control where possible rather than pedals, and my telecaster volume pot can dial down gain on the dirty channel of my Mesa V25 to a very decent ‘usable’ lower gain tone BUT my Les paul cannot reduce the gain to any useable lower gain tone. Why is that, and is there a solution for the Les Paul to overcome this?

It sounds like you need a lower output pickup in the les paul like a vintage type humbucker and preferably with a coil split option.

What kind of pickups are you running on the LP? I run a Tele and a LP thru my 25.
