I need a replacement footswitch for my "version 1" (non-multi-watt) 3 channel dual recto. The original footswitch was a 5 button, single row. The "version 2" multi-watt versions came with a 6 button, two row footswitch.

My question is will the 6 button, two row switch for the multi-watt version also work for the older non-multi-watt version, or do I have to buy the 5 button, single row version?

The 6 button version has a mute switch which would be cool, IF it actually works with the non-multi-watt DRs.

Thanks!
Rick

There is a post somewhere on here about someone trying it and from what I remember, only the channel switching worked with the newer footswitch.

Try the switch doctor footswitches on ebay. Same as the original and probably cheaper than buying from Mesa

Thanks. I saw those but they don't have one specifically for the 3 ch DRs.

Yes I know. My original question was whether this one would also work.

I had a five button "Bigfoot" footswich go bad on me once. If you having one the same problems I had it's more than likely a switch going bad. If you're good with a sodering iron you can replace it yourself. Call Mesa and order a replacement switch for cheap. That's what I did...way less expensive than ordering a whole new switcher.
