Yes, I have played it a couple of times; one of my buddies has one and it's a nice guitar. The neck is comfortable, not as much as an Ibanez, but good. The guitar is very light, though, it feels weird; and the mate finish rubs off quickly.

I got the GT-OD mainly because of the sound and the green casing (yeah, I know... childish decision :lol: ), althought there was a Classic Overdrive available at the time, at about the same price. You cannot go wrong with MXR overdrives, they sound really good.

In the realm of 7-string guitars Ibanez is definitely hard to beat. And yes, if you don't want to have a guitar with a neck that feels like a baseball bat, stay away fron Schecters.

For an Overdrive pedal, I might suggest the GT-OD from MXR... great pedal to pair with the Rectos!!!

Mmmm AFAIK all Rectos have parallel fx loop instead of series fx loop. I run my Noise Decimator in the fx loop with great results. My setting in the loop is at 90%, which is the closest you can get to a series fx loop, without mods.
