Speakers for 3/4 back cabinet with Rectoverb 25

Just bought a Mesa V30 to replace one of the speakers I reached out to Mesa and they recommended the V30 in the cab. Figured to start with one, get the best of both worlds. I can always go full V30 later is needed.

Speakers for 3/4 back cabinet with Rectoverb 25

I have had the Rectoverb 25 for 10 years (wow) and used it with a mini rec 1x12 cab, mostly for home use. I liked the sound. When I eventually started using it with a group I found the mini rec 1x12 didn't fill the room enough. Because of this I sold the mini rec and found a used 2x12 3/4...

Mesa 25-wat rectoverb 1x12 sounds harsh, raspy. Any ideas?

IMHO for channel 2 I would say by these settings the gain and presence are too high. I usually don't have the gain or presence over 11. Having the mid at 1 would probably make it sound raspy as well. Here is what I use. G-10/11, B-11, M-10, T-12, P-12, Master as needed. Channel 1 looks...

Anyone try a thiele cab with a Fillmore speaker?

The subject says it all. I see some available from my local dealer. Just curious.

Elvis, What do you like about the vertical vs the horizontal?

    2x12 Cab for Rectoverb 25 or (2) 1x12

Ouch. I tried the V30 and it did not sound good. The bass was flubby and it sounded bad loud. I'll probably just end up sticking the the mini rec cab.

    2x12 Cab for Rectoverb 25 or (2) 1x12

I was going to do that then I saw the leads to the speaker are soldered. Not that I mind soldering but it was more than I wanted to do at the time. I'll give it a try.

    2x12 Cab for Rectoverb 25 or (2) 1x12

After some time with the thiele & mini rec cab combo I'm thinking I will sell the thiele to get a 2x12 rectifier cab. The thiele is a nice cab. I did a recording with it by itself and it sounded great. It is more open sounding than the mini rec cab; however, when playing it I have trouble...

    2x12 Cab for Rectoverb 25 or (2) 1x12

I picked up a used 1x12 thiele can from Reverb and am happy with the results so far. The slant cab with the V30 takes care of the middle and the thiele with the c90 ands some high end and low. On the rectoverb I have to turn down the bass from around 11 o'clock to about 8-9. The sound isn't...

Rectoverb 25 Head Change Preamp Tube

Looks like that is what you have to do. It wasn't hard but if you had to do this during a show it would not be easy.

Rectoverb 25 Head Change Preamp Tube

I want to replace the V1 preamp tube on my Reectoverb 25 head and it looks like the only way to get to it is to pull the chassis our of the head cab. Is this correct?

    2x12 Cab for Rectoverb 25 or (2) 1x12

I went to the store and tried a couple of cabs with the Rectoverb 25's they had. I started with the 2x12 compact rectifier cab. This sounded good. Lots of low end. I didn't like how low to the ground it is for how close I play to my amp. Next I tried the vertical 2x12. This made the...

    2x12 Cab for Rectoverb 25 or (2) 1x12

I have a rectoverb 25 head that I use with a mini rectifier slant 1x12 cab. I've been thinking to move to a 2 speaker arrangement. I was thinking to sell my 1x12 and buy a 2x12 vertical or horizontal cab but then I thought maybe to buy another 1x12 to make a mini stack or place side by side...

    Rectoverb 25 questions

I have a RV25 head and 1x12 cab 1. Is the high gain channel noisy? Hiss, Crackles, Pops, etc....anything out of the ordinary, I'm not talking about standard tube hiss. - No I find it to be pretty quiet even at high gain. 2. Is the low gain channel noisy? - No, same as question 1. 3. Is there...

NAD - Mesa Rectoverb 25 Head/Cab With Clips

I would say so. I wouldn't say massive but that is where the amp gets cooking. After 10 o'clock to about 1 o'clock on the master the increase in volume is more significant than on the lower part of the dial.

NAD - Mesa Rectoverb 25 Head/Cab With Clips

I thought I would share this with you guys if anyone is thinking about getting one. Went shopping for a new amp and bought a Mesa Rectoverb 25 head and 1x12 cab from The Guitar Sanctuary in McKinney, TX. I'm not gigging anymore so I was looking a low powered amp for jamming at home. I wanted...

Mesa Lonestar Special with Dr Z Z-Best Cab

Has anyone used an LSS with a Dr z z-best cab with the standard V30 G12H30 mix? How did it sound? Compared to the C90 speaker? I ask because I was about to pull the trigger on a new 1x12 extension cab but thought having a Z-best cab would offer some more versatility and different/better sound.

LSS - replace speaker with celestion gold or add ext cab

I can see what you're saying about the c90. When playing chords on channel two with some gain you seem to loose string definition. Although this should come back if you raise the mids.
