I play a gibson sg, so it's allready quite full / fat sound. When I start to loosen the bottom end, it will start to sound to boomy and muddy. Or maybe i completely have the wrong amp, allthough I doubt it :D

I changed them myself...could not wait! I gues it worked...there's still a sh*tload of sweet sound coming out of that beast! So I'm going to look for a 1x12 or 2x12 external, closed-back, speaker cab. Anyone other options, next to the Thiele with EV speaker?

Except for those leaves-inlay, that first guitar is a real beauty!

That's strange...the guy I bought this from said he got the amp looked after before selling.... And that swapping, is it something I can do myself? And does a Mark IV need to be re-biased after installing new tubes? thanks for the help! and by pups you mean....? I allready hear that closing...

Thanks guys, for the tip. Indeed, I still have to find my own tone in that baby. But if I wanted to jam along with, say Metallica, I would like to quickly dail in those settings and blast away... but then again, I'm not familiar with Mark IV long enough (2 weeks) to know if my current set-up...
