I replaced the relay i got a couple of mesa but it made no difference all voltages are more or less ok according to the schematic its had new dmr and filter caps just annoying when it happens thanks anyway.
Hi steeve interesting reading I would be interested in seeing what you have drawn up to maybe try some on my Maverick.
I'm still having a problem ith the lead channel on mine when I first switch on from cold after about a Minute Relay 3 (channel switching) Starts chattering like crazy it lasts...
Ok replaced filter caps and clean channel ok however on lead channel whenever I play or just touch the jack tip relay 3 s chattering and buzzing it' nuts off but the sound is there.
I have checked voltages from the schematic and they are ok all resistors check out ok around the relay to and...
Thanks for the replies
Iv'e only checked the output valves which are fairly new. I did a full re-valve less than 12 months from Watford valves here in the UK.
I did hard wire the plastic connectors a while a go after it was giving intermitent noise due to a bad joint it has been perfect since...
Hi my 1 X 12 Maverick seems to have lost it's mesa tone it just sounds dull and lifeless iv'e subbed tubes and tweeked away but it just lacks what it normally has great tone.
Any ideas? what I could start to check to try and sort it please.
Thanks
Thanks Monsta-Tone yeah here are the pics of the connector easy to see the hot spot.
By the way it also cured some relay chatter at switch on.
Yes I think you are right maybe a weak spot, I think if it re occurs I will just solder them direct thanks for the reply
Thanks for the quick replies it turned out to be the connector going to the board the big one thats split into a 3 pin and 7 pin I think, the wires are sort of crimped into it one was a little brown with heat on closer look it was not making a good contact, I think its on the ground loop so...
Hi I have a lovely 1 X 12 Maverick Combo that was all sorted and running well but just lately there is a hum just on the clean channel on both valve and solid state rectifier settings all valves are good (tested by subbing them with known good ones).
Lead channel is fine no hum at all its just...
I have a Maverick 1X12 and its has an annoying hum that comes and goes. Even with the Master and Volumes down and the reverb right down in fact all controls up or down I get this Hum that comes in cycles for a few seconds then dies away It's not affected by the volumes its just there if anyone...
I think Relay 2 switches the lead / rhythm reverb signal I would check the voltage there first but the LDR's are worth checking as they are used to switch channels, among other things and from what im told lose 10% of there tolerence every year...
Just in case anyone is inteseted all the LDR'S are supposed to be VTL5C2 there was a real odd on in there and a couple of 9's obviously been done before with the wrong parts. After replacing them with new ones and a revalve it seems to be working fine again....
