Slave Amp - Tube or solid state

As posted above, the Slave Out is tapped from the output transformer and includes all the tube goodness of the power section. A solid state power amp works great for this (as much as I hate to admit), and using the RK cab split the speaker load wont be a problem either. Slave > FX mono in/stereo...

3 channel Triple Rectifier Midi Switching

Midi switching OR the amp ftsw, NOT both. Also when programming, make sure when you turn one amp channel on, you also turn the last one off. Dont know if it might damage the amp's switching relays, but it sounds like **** thats for sure.

    Tri Rec as Poweramp

Agree you are on the right track. For LIVE or LOUD mic'd recording. Direct to the board, the Helix will probably (much as I hate to admit) get you everything you need. However...pushing the input of a tube amp, turning it's output up until your speakers beg for mercy, and putting a mic on it...

    Rectifier Tubes

Yes this is correct. If you have a bad rec tube, you should remove all of them and use the silicon diode setting. Using the tube rec setting with a bad rectifier tube will blow the main fuse. Maybe even in diode setting if the bad tube is still in the amp.

3 channel Triple Rectifier Midi Switching

At the risk of over-simplifying, there are basically two midi commands. PC (program change) and CC (control change). Need to figure out which/both of these messages your switcher responds to and program the helix accordingly. No idea about the nux I have never used one, sorry. Also the...

3 channel Triple Rectifier Midi Switching

Yes this is correct. Depending how many outputs the switcher has, you can also control the fx loop and the solo function. There may be some setup/programming involved to make everything play nice together but it's pretty simple and should be clearly explained in the manuals for your specific...

    RK2 Slave Out

Thanks afu. Perhaps I could have been more clear in my original post as to what I am trying to accomplish. I have no intention of muting the RK2's power amp (it is a combo btw). Instead I am building a Mix/Dry/Mix setup. Same idea as typical w/d/w but the stereo mix cabs are the dominant factor...

    RK2 Slave Out

It's my understanding that the Slave Out on the RoadKing is derived somehow from the output transformer. Is this correct? Thus being influenced by the power tubes? If I were to use the Slave Out into stereo effect, and then into a (high headroom) tube power amp, would this be a problem? If so...

Roadking 2 Version 2 Reverb bleed when changing channel

This may or may not apply to your specific case, but... I find the muting time on my RK2 reverb to be about 2 sec. It works as designed to keep bleed on channel switching under control. In my specific situation, I use the amp reverb (always on) as a subtle ambience to compensate for room...

Solo boost Mark V vs Roadster

No exp here w/ Mk5 or Roadster, however the solo function on both my RKII and Triple-rec function as you describe your 5. Solo is "more" no matter where it's set...say output is at 11:00, solo at 9:00 is a substantial boost.

Anyone running a full stack with a 4x12 and 2x12 cabs?

Update as promised: The 2x12 open back C90 combo with a V30 loaded 4x12 balance together quite nicely. As you would expect the open back combo has a more room-filling sound, where the 4x12 is punchier and very directional. As far as vol balance however, no problem. They seem about the same...

    SOLD

Good Deal Alert! Picked up amp and cab yesterday. Both were in excellent condition, better than advertised! This gear is like new as in speakers not even broken in yet...they smell new. Max is a decent human being as well. Invited me in for a beer even (a delicious ipa at that!) Would not...

Can a Mark V footswitch control a Recto at the same time?

Agreed. I was using two identical amps.

Anyone running a full stack with a 4x12 and 2x12 cabs?

Just scored a RK combo and a 4x12 so I can let you know about the vol balance this wknd (I pick it up Saturday). Not exactly the same comparison as the combo is open-back C90's, but if there is a huge imbalance I'm sure you could throw a hotplate or similar attenuator at the louder cab to even...

Can a Mark V footswitch control a Recto at the same time?

I guess inst cables would work, but the shielding is not needed and speaker wire is both more durable and less expensive.
