    290 dead: help me please!!!

Your amp has the blue pilot light. It's between the power and standby switches. As for tubes.. I'd probably stick with Mesa tubes. If your Mesa amp has a problem when used with Mesa tubes.. they cover any problems up to a certain amount of time. You'll want them matched pairs just as you would...

    290 dead: help me please!!!

Yep. You can use EL 34's but only in certain sockets. I'm guessing the class A/B sockets and not the class A sockets. This greatly depends on what revision of the 2:Ninety you have. It would be best to consult Mesa on this. They sent me a diagram once and it was the outer sockets for my revision...

    290 dead: help me please!!!

yep.. if I had to guess.. the gray tube heater wire is burnt at the connector. I had this happen and sent it to Mesa. It's a known and somewhat common problem apparently. It's not the first time I've seen it mentioned on this board. Here's a few shots of mine. FYI.. if you open the amp to...

    TriAxis thin sound! Need HELP!

could be anything. Most tube amp problems are tube problems. Another thing the TriAxis is known for is the ribbon cables needing to be re-seated inside of the unit. Otherwise it could be a bloated component internally or something that would need to be repaired. Try the tubes, if the problem...

    New Mesa/Boogie Rack Product Ideas

Transaxis could be interesting.. That would suggest the Trans line of amps. I'd like to see them do one with the Mark V (channel 1,2 and 3), TA/RA, put the recto back in. It would have to retain the original triaxis MK 2C+ though. Perhaps the lonestar circuit. All midi controllable and for...

2:90/TriAxis on Lead 1 Red (no Fat) and Recto - how close?

I think my TriAxis must have the fat mod. The LD RD 1 mode sounds like ***. I use Ld 2 Yellow for heavy tones anyway. I guess that's the Mark II mode.

FX in conjunction Triaxis and 2:90 question...

I run everything between the TriAxis and the 2:Ninety via midi preset switching. Guitar > TriAxis input > TriAxis outs > Line 6 Mod Pro > Eventide Time Factor > Eventide Eclipse > 2:Ninety > 2 - 4x12 Mesa cabs The Lonestar and Mark V.. I use the fx loop. Brian

Help me hook up my rig!

Whammy's and Wah pedals are notorious for killing tone. The Whammy I have is horrible.. even when turned off. I'd try getting true bypass versions or perhaps try a buffer in front of them. You might want to try the filter stuff in the loop. Otherwise it looks ok.

    Analog Delays

This is not correct. I'm not saying you can't use an analog delay in front of the amp, because it does give a particular sound *if you're after that. Most Modulation/Delay/Reverb and pitch effects will sound better in the fx loop (after the crunch stages). If you plug any of these into the...

    Mark V resistor blowing?

None of this should matter. Mesa knows based on the serial numbers when a particular piece was made. Therefore they know whether it should be under warranty or not. The only problem would be if the amp sat in a store for a year or so before being purchased, but that's moot as there were no Mark...

    Mark V reverb stopped working...

whoa? The warranty is void if purchased outside of the USA? That's lame if true. I can understand Mesa not wanting to foot the cost of shipping, but voiding the 5 year warranty seems like a stretch to me. There aren't any Mesa certified service centers where you are? Good luck on this. Brian

RectoPre Front Input sucks, the rear one works fine. Movie.

I'd call Boogie. It could be something like a bloated resistor (or some other component) on the front input (this can be caused by age or the stress of cable runs that are too long). I had something like that happen on my TriAxis a long time ago (it only has a rear input, but the symptoms were...

    Mark V reverb stopped working...

Do you know what you're doing? It would be a far more expensive problem if you mess something up and end up having to send it to Mesa with a voided warranty. B-

    395 or 2:90

The 2:Ninety was more or less made to go with the TriAxis. They are voiced to work well together and they do. I think if you're using something else (you mentioned a CAE) that you might be better off with the 395/295 route. The 2:90 might be fine as well. The 50:50 is a very good power amp as...
