Thanks kekam35! It is on both channels. I will swap out the PI and let you know if that solves the problem. I expect that if I swap out the power tubes I will need to bring the amp in for bias adjustment, correct?

+1000 I installed this exact set-up, except for the toggle switch, in my '71 LP Deluxe. The tone controls are entirely usable in every position. This is one of the only guitars I have ever felt a need to actually use the tone controls. Fantastic!

Thank you for the reply! That sounds like they will give me what I want. I've never experimented with different tubes, for tone's sake. I've only changed them when they've failed. I've been told that pre-amp tubes don't generally need to be changed, unless one fails, but power tubes wear out...
