I’m looking for one as well. For those fortunate enough to have found one... any tips? Assuming #1 is “patience”. I recently saw a black face/chrome chassis triple rectifier on eBay, however seller was in Maldova, so I hesitated and the amp sold!

I lucked out and found a super clean dual......was also looking at this one....it's still available....

@MaceFremonti Thanks for looking out--looks legit. A different one popped up on eBay today

They do exist!

I'm still on the lookout. I would appreciate a heads up if you see a blackface triple recto out there. Thanks all

Is there something special about the black face models? I have a 3 channel Dual Rec but it's chrome face. Without having pulled the chassis I can't say what the rev is.

Blackface/chrome just looks badass, the three channel models don't really have a coveted revision, the revision madness is centered around the original two channel heads.

I sold my 2-channel Blackface/chrome chassis Triple many years ago. No wonder it went so fast. I had no clue. I was/am an early Mark series fan, and it just was not the amp for me. No regrets, as it went to someone who liked it more. 8)

I sure don't , could not get rid of that amp fast enough. The magic happened when I got my old 1978 Mark I back. That led into the IIC+ craze. Do not be fooled, there is NO substitute. As far as any MESA amp goes. 8)

Can anyone with experience comment on a listing like this? It seems sketch... It’s the third blackface TR I’ve seen in the last two months from Moldova specifically. This time the pictures are different, but it seems like a strange coincidence. Thanks!

Rev G, S/n 2892

The same seller sold this Rev F recently, but for $500 less, even though the s/n was 602.

Yet received feedback for selling the same one even earlier:

Stay away from this seller.

I contacted him a few months back about a chrome chassis rev F R-003487 listing. I thought that was a high serial number for a rev F so I asked for circuit board and transformer pics. In addition to the listing having pictures of two different amps, the pics he sent me included pictures of a third amp which was a black chassis. He sent me pictures of R-00602, R-001916, and R-003487. All of which were supposed to be from R-003487. Apparently he didn't know that you can zoom in on a picture and see all the fine details like serial numbers!

I politely informed him of his "error" and asked him if he new what he was doing. He said that he has been collecting/selling Mesas for fifteen years and that he new what he was doing.

In that case he should know the differences between a chrome chassis, black chassis, how to list an amp properly etc.

Shady listing, shady pics, shady interaction, overseas listing.....no way.

@MaceFremonti Thank you so much. You've helped me multiple times now. I really appreciate it!

Sold, right?

There should be a web-scout-robot-thing that checks all available web marketplaces for music gear. Kind of like hifishark. Really great page. Lots of countries with different market places.
I think only way to succseed aquiring rare stuff is to look everywhere at every hour. First come, first serve. I got mine that way.
Anyone have a list over the different market places in the world here?
I’ll start:
Skandinavia
Finn.no
Blocket.se
Dba.dk
Gems could be found in all corners of the world!

Bump - still looking. I’ve got the cash available and ready to pull the trigger. Anyone got any leads?
