Hi everyone. I have a Mark V 25 head and two different Mesa 1x12 cabs. The first cab is angled 60 watt 8 ohm cab and the second is a Theile 90 watt 8 ohm cab.

How do I run both cabs together off the head. Do I use the 8 ohm output on the head and chain from the first cab to the second?

Or should I use one of the 4 ohm outputs and daisy chain the cabinets. Also the theile cab doesn’t sound as loud as the other cab.

Why is this? Are the cabs not compatible with each other?

You can safely connect two 8 ohm cabs directly into the back of the amp, just use the 4 ohm jacks. If you want to use just one 8 ohm cab, plug it into the 8 ohm jack.

Not sure about hooking the cabs up in daisy chain, that depends on how the cabs are wired. Safest thing is to just plug each cab into it’s own 4 ohm jack on the back the amp.

This is covered in pg. 27 of the MK V 25 Manual:

They also have a generic online article here:
