Hello together!

I play a Mesa Boogie Mark IV and it really sounds
Great. However, I recently saw the video of Leon Todd
encountered. Rhythm 1 sounds clean in the video but he also plays a
very good sounding distorted sound with this channel. My Mark 4 from 2007
only sounds a bit distorted at full gain. The clean sound sounds
as he should. Now when I pull "Pull bright", the sound changes
only very little bit, shouldn`t gain increase??? Shouldn't the effect be much bigger here?
I have already changed the tubes (power amplifier and preamp) - without
success.

By the way, I play the amp as loud as the drums, so not at
Home in the bedroom! :)

My Guitar is a Gibson like Guitar (Heritage) with Seymour Duncan SH4 humbucker.

Here is the video, in the end he plays a great distorted sound on Rhythm 1:

Thank you for your support! Greetings from Germany

The bright switch doesn't have any effect on gain.....or very little I should say. When set at 10 it should have virtually no effect at all. When set low say 2-4 range it has a very low amount of gain boost (virtually none) and makes the sound brighter.

I have a JB in one of my guitars. With gain, treble, presence max and bright switch pulled your going to get blues amount of distortion. A very moderate crunch.
