I have an express plus 5:25 combo but going into a 2x12 recto cab. On the clean tone there is a loud hum that is happening, even when nothing is plugged into the amp. It’s not the normal hiss of a powered on amp but an annoying loud hum. I called Mesa and they said to try replacing the tubes as I got the amp used and had no idea of when they were replaced. I did replace all the tubes with Mesa tubes and got no different result. The power is clean, new home as of 2015 that is properly grounded. Tonight however I noticed something strange. As I was fiddling with the amp I tried turning the master down and the gain all the way up. The hum disappeared and all I heard was the normal hiss of an amp working normally, no matter where I turned the master to. I would really love some help on this one as I don’t really have an option of having it serviced at an authorized service center because I live in Alaska.
