Hey all, Just a quick question, i was playing my .50 caliber and it suddenly lost power, when i was playing, the volume dove down to a very low level, fluctuated and then ended up very low, could smell a heating up smell.. not burning
Doe that sound like the power tubes are dying?

I was playing at a not loud level, around 1.5 volume.
Thanks for any responses!

If it's the power tubes, you may be able to see them red plating if you try it in a dark room.'

A very common issue is a dirty FX loop jack (though that wouldn't cause a smell). Spray a bit of contact cleaner on a plug and run it in and out of each jack a few times.
