Hello everyone.

I'm new here seeking some help with my first Mesa, a DC-3. It's got an intermittent rattle, at certain volumes and really only certain notes. It's most noticeable when playing a 13th fret, 2nd string C.

A tech looked it over and didn't find any bad tubes, but the issue persisted, so I swapped in a matched set of JJ EL-84s.

Nope, still there. I haven't noticed anything loose or rattling around.

There's another tech in town who's familiar with Mesa and DCs in particular, but a little help eliminating the obvious stuff would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Check all the screws on the amp and make sure they are snug. If one of the chassis bolts is loose, the nut on the bottom may be rattling. There also is a chassis "pressure" bolt in the middle of most mesa boogies, that is a bolt in the middle of the chassis that presses on the top of the cabinet. there's a nut on the bottom of that, so it could be loose as well.
