I just picked up a used LSC 2x12 at GC. It was shipped to me from another location. Tubes were removed for safety, I reinstalled as per the instructions. I fired it up....100w Silicon Diode mode works as does the 50w Silicon Diode. When I switched it to Tube Rectifier, the sound died out...it got gainy and dropped in volume till it quickly faded out. This also happens on Silicon Diode 10w mode as well...WTH is going on? this is my first Mesa and I have dreamed of having a Lone Star Classic 2x12....incredibly disappointed. Any ideas?

Hi and congrats on your new amp :)

That sounds to me like the tube rectifier/s are dead.. I don’t recall the tube type in that model but replacing those buggers with new tubes would probably help.

If you read the manual (can be found from Mesa website) there will be the correct type and if I recall correctly the 10W mode uses always tube rectifier.

Cheers
