Play In Mark IV Push/Pull Knobs?

    All 3 Mk 4's I owned had that (A's and B). So I guess it's pretty normal.

Blink 182 tone.. Voice your opinion's..

Why ***** about the guy playing powerchords? If he wants to and enjoys it what is the problem? Not everybody wants to be the next shred-king. I play skatepunk and enjoy it. I play metal and blues, but enjoy skatepunk too (bad religion/pennywise/etc). Music doesn't have to be difficult/complex...

How many of each model have been made?

I've seen very late Mark IV B models with serials in the 15xxx, so there are some more B's than Ian's site states. My 2005 B model serial is 12402.

No stripe RCS on back -

It's a very early no stripe model. 15202 is also very close to the last IIC+ serials, that were in the low 15xxx.

    Electra-Dyne Forum

Another +1 bump. I won't be surprised if there will follow more amps in the dyne series. The dyne looks like a very cool amp, also for high gain players. I really want to try one but haven't seen one yet.

WATCH OUT WITH THIS GUY! Read the topics on HCAF. This guy has scammed some people. Some received their gear after all but some still haven't.

What's this, prototype or clone? (Caliber .50 content)

    MK IV-A or IV-B?

I owned an (1992) A rackmount, an (1992) A compact combo and now own a (2005/6) B medium head. Slight difference in R2 and an even minor difference in the lead. You'll love both.

FS: Mesa Mark IV B Head

I don't think that's a 1993, the first where made in or around 1994 and had the old Mark series styling, this is one with a powdercoated chassis instead of a faceplate and with the black taurus leather and leather corners. To my knowledge this must be a 1995 or later model.

just got my Electra Dyne 1x12 combo and um....

I'm also very interested in the ED. I was thinking of it as a blues/softrock amp at first, but it's that plus it can do pretty good high gain tones. Definately on my list. I would love to compare it to a stiletto ace or duece.

    Just recapped my mk IIC+.

I sent my old '92 Mark IVA rackmount head (#5221) in for a cap change a couple years back and the tech called me a couple days later: "the original Mesa caps test better than the new ones I've got (sprague and mullard I believe), wait a year or 5 before thinking about it again." Sold it a...

    sweeping generalizations

+1 on the OP. Mesa has only one real issue with the amp and that's the paint rubbing off, and that can be repaired fairly easy. The amp seems great on every other point. I'm not a Mk 5 lover, I absolutely love my Mark IV so I won't buy one, but the bashing is unfair. The amp is great, and it...

I got my Mark V head the other day....does anyone notice

I hate the Presence pulled out on my Mk IV, it makes the amp fizzy and less aggressive and defined. I guess I'll stick with my Mark IV since I use it for it's tight middy high gain crunch 99% of the time.

    Mesa 4x12 Rectifier or Marshall 1960A 4x12

Definately the Mesa! I had a 1960AV (with V30 speakers) and made the swich to the Rectifier slant 412. Although the mesa is bigger, it's tighter in the lows because of its better construction. It can be a bit boomy though, but just turn your low(mid)s down a bit and you're fine. My 1960AV was...
