FS Mesa Stiletto Ace 2x12 Combo $1200 shipped

FS Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace 2x12 Combo in great shape with cover and footswitch. $1200 shipped/paypal'd, but would prefer to sell local for less to the Vancouver,Wa / Portland, OR area and I'm willing to drive a bit to meet so you can try it out. I'll get some pics up here as soon as I can.

    Ace, Lonestar, Mark V???

    Another Stiletto vote here

Why does the Mark III get less respect than the IV or V?

I always prefered the III's to the IV or V. I've tried to start something with the V, but it has always left me wanting something more and the IV was absolutely amazing, I'll get another if I have the need for another amp at some point, but every III I've owned has had a unique mojo to it that...

Stiletto Ace noise effects problem and the foot switch.

The TRS cables that come with the footswitch SUCK IMO, try a new cable (make sure it's TRS AKA Stereo), cheapest fix outside of checking the hard bypass switch. I get a lot of ground loop issues with my ACE as well, it seems to like to burn through the PI tubes for some odd reason (could be...

What's your live EQ settings for your Stiletto?

Fat Clean - Pretty much everything at noon Fluid Drive - (in o'clock) gain 1-2, treble 9, mid noon, bass 3, presence 9-noon (depending on room), master 11 Send at about 10-11, Master noon, Solo noon

Stiletto comments & questions after trying one 4 first time

The Ace will react very differently to different guitars as far as bass output - I use a 7 string tuned to normal with 9's and a 6 string tuned to normal with 10's (both ibanez with trems) and have never had a problem with lack of bass out of the 2x12 combo. Make sure you test it out with your...

Mesa Express vs Nomad vs Electradyne

Check the stiletto out! From what you're describing you are in the same situation i was. I loved the tones I got from all the Mesas I've owned, but I'm a fan of the more in your face rock sound than the over saturated sounds from most high gain amps. With the treble and presence fairly low on my...

    Stiletto too bright??

Never had an issue with my Ace being too bright, but I also primarily use it in a band setting and it's sits perfectly in the mix and cuts at the same time. I'm sure in a small room or practice space without a band it could sound too bright, but so would most guitars I've heard recorded or live...

A little bit of help choosing Power Tubes

I've been using JJ E34L's in all my rectifiers for a while now. Never had an issue with them, and they seem to have as long of life as any 6l6 I've used. I love the tone and feel of them

Send/Return Loop Mix Knob for Three-channel Dual Rectifier

There's a mod floating around here somewhere to turn the parallel loop into a series loop, but supposedly it defeats the solo and fx function on the footswitch. I know the loop is a concern with some players, but i'm not a big effects user so it never bothered me (i run 2 delays in the loop and...

The Touring Rig is COMPLETE! Major LOUD inside!

That is beautiful and makes my back hurt just looking at it  Very well put together

Send/Return Loop Mix Knob for Three-channel Dual Rectifier

The loop on the 3 channel at 100% is more like preamp at 10% effects at 90%, always a bit of bleed from the dry signal. I always ran my effects units at 100% wet and used the return control on the DR to mix it in, which is how it's intended to be used I believe. A parallel loop will probably not...

Tryed a Stiletto Deuce II head!! Holy F@#K!

I run my ace 2x12 combo with my 4x12 recto when the crushing is needed  but for the most part just take the combo to shows and mic it. I don't have problems with any piercing highs with mine, but have my presence down when I practice alone and turn it up with the band

Why does my old LSS have so much (toneful) gain, compared?

Are the send levels the same on both amps? This can make a difference in available gain. One of those little things that's easy to overlook.

    Deuce pedal

They don't use midi because there's only 2 latching signals needed for switching. I had the switching problem with my ACE but not with my Stage 1, it was the jack in the amp. Mine was an easy fix, just needed push the pin up a little for a snug fit.

    Useless Options???

The off button. No need for that, just keep playing

    Register a new amp online?

I believe the only way is to send in the paperwork to Mesa Boogie the old fashioned way.

Dual Rectifier with EL34's vs. Stilletto Deuce?

I had E34L's in my DR and I thought I would be playing that thing 'til I was dead, but once I got a hold of a Stiletto it was all over. 2 very different amps, not even comparable other than the fact that they are both tweakable beyond measure. I don't miss my DRs at all, but if you haven't tried...

Why do you think the Stilettos get a bad rap?

I can understand why the Stilettos get a bad rap - They are completely unforgiving and ungodly tweakable. All the things I could slop through and have sound amazing on my DR's, Marks, and ETC, sound sloppy through the Stilettos. Not the amp for unseasoned players or players that aren't...

Stiletto owners who used to play Studio Pre

That's a tough one, they both do Metal and Jazz well, my personal preference is the Stiletto (hence why I have 2 of them now). I could never get the feel out of the Studio Pre I can out of the Stiletto, but the Stiletto has also made me have to work a lot harder as a player, I've never played an...
