Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

Update: Not on here much so sorry for not replying. The amp is fine. It shipped with a bad pre amp tube. I put in a new set of tubes and one of the replacements was bad too so I had no idea. I hooked it up one last time before returning and while reinstalling the original mesa tubes I found...

Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

Thanks for that info. I have an ISP Vector that really helps get me there. I just figured this amp shouldn’t need a crutch. I’ll play with the settings a bit more and see what I can come up with.

Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

There are a few cabs to test for at the practice spot and I’m not opposed to replacing speakers. Kind of been wanting to try 8ohms anyway. The reason I have 16 is I bought my 412 wired at 16. So I made my 212 match for convenience. I’m willing to do what I need to try and make this amp work...

Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

212 with Eminence V12 Legends. And yeah the fixed bias thing idk about. Would be nice to throw in whatever 6l6 I wanted. Should be able to try my 412 soon. I will say though at practice today in a better room I had better results but still would like more. I have an ISP Vector that really...

Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

All 16 ohms. Bass is on zero but the Treble is at 1:00 and the mids at 10:00 and a V on EQ with shred. I need the treble at 1:00 to get the gain that I need.

Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

Have some comments and questions about the issues I’m having. Hoping for some feedback as I really do not want to return the amp. This JP-2C just doesn’t seem very loud at all. What I mean is, and to be blunt... It sounds amazing at 10:00 but it sounds like crap at a really loud volume. I’ve...

    JP2c bedroom volumes?

    Will read up on this.

No load needed with Cab Clone?

Will try all the above (except speaker on with no load) Just out of curiousity have you tried to record direct with this amp using separate IR’s? I think it says there already is a built in “cab clone” but naturally I’d think it would sound much better with IR’s and a loader like LeCab...

    JP2c bedroom volumes?

FWIW, I am a rookie. I literally JUST got this amp on Friday and have only had a few hours with it. However, I am finding the opposite of what some are saying. I play modern metal, I like high gain, saturation, brutal tones and this JP2C brings the goods. My issue is, I get the absolute...

No load needed with Cab Clone?

I just want to double check and be 100% sure this is accurate so I don’t fry my new amp. From the manual: “NOTE: IMPORTANT! The SPKR OFF switch position automatically connects a Load Resistor to the SPEAKER Outputs to prevent damage to the output tubes and transformer and allow...

    Couldn’t resist

 Silly wives, mine doesn’t know yet. I’m actually having it shipped to fedex location too but I’m sure she’ll notice at some point since I don’t lug my stacks to the man cave. But it’s all good either way. I’m paying for it and after all she is the one who got Sweetwater credit for me...

    Couldn’t resist

Just pulled the trigger today on the JP2C. Have to wait for shipping but I’m pretty excited. Have been reading the threads on here and checking out all of your guys’s clips. GAS attack. This will be my first Mesa and I think it’s going to be great. I like the modern metal tones so this should...
