    Which attenuators?

I’ve gigged my Lonestar where I was able to really open up the power amp and it sounded huge, full of harmonic overtones and nicely compressed. Playing at home with the amp at low volume, albeit with the pre-amp dimed is certainly passable, but not as inspiring.

    Which attenuators?

Yes, both those would be good but they are much more than a simple attenuator. I’m in the UK and the Boss would set me back equivalent of $1405 USD. The Mesa attenuator, I understand, may be a little cheaper when it becomes available, but I’d still be paying for features I’m unlikely to use...

    Which attenuators?

For convenience, I’ve been gigging a Helix for the past 18 months, but at home I really love playing my LSC - straight in no effects. Just wondering if anyone uses an attenuator with their Lonestar, or any Mesa for that matter and, if so, which one? There are a lot of choices out there and...

LSS Reverb seems not so great - What don't I know?

I have to agree with you there Elvis. I purchased my early LSC used at a great price as the reverb was not working. One new good quality replacement tank later, I was disappointed in the ‘normal’ sound of the reverb. It was certainly not the deep lush reverbs all the media reviews had suggested...

NAD - Lone Star Classic 410 Combo

Cool! Never seen a 4x10 Lonestar before. Does it come with its own sack-truck to move it around?

    Delay issues

Although I’ve owned my Lonestar a while now, I only recently discovered why my delays sounded distorted in the effects loop. Not sure if this applies to the MkV as well, or other MBs, but each channels master volume on the Lonestar also controls the signal strength through the loop. If you have...

Big Blue Pig Soon To Be a Head

Well, Zilla cabs here in the UK certainly know their stuff. My Lonestar chassis and reverb tray transferred over perfectly to my new cab. No more broken back

    Hello?

I must say, this is a very quiet corner of the Boogie Board. Maybe we have learned all there is to know about the Lonestar and, due to the models’ sheer reliability no-one has any problems to report? :?:

    Hello?

Came back home to the Lonestar Classic. Feels good! New Amp!

Okay, I appreciate this is an old post, but having converted my Blue Pig 2x12 combo to a more manageable head, I was browsing back through the previous posts and am intrigued by the OP’s impressive setup here. My question is, assuming each of these 1x12 cabs are rated at 8 ohm, would they...

Big Blue Pig Soon To Be a Head

I have just joined a busy weekend gigging band, where my gorgeous big LSC ‘Blue Pig’ 2x12 combo excels in the wide variety of material covered. However, although no weakling, I am no longer a spring chicken and hauling the Pig around twice a week, albeit in a flight case, I do fear for my back...

Fender guy here, went with a LSC to pair with my DRRI

Probably the best summary of the LSC I have ever read.

Questions for People with Both LSC and LSS Experience

I totally agree about only using Ch2 for lead. I get tremendous crunch/OD rhythm sounds using an OCD in Ch1, then for lead/soloing change to Ch2 and a treble boost (in my case a Phil Hilborne Fat TB). The TB doesn’t try to colour the sound like an OD pedal and, for my tastes, nails the tone in...

New Found Love for Mesa Lonestar

Amazing player. This is his website (the treble booster can be found in the ‘shop’ section). http://philhilborne.co.uk/enter.htm

New Found Love for Mesa Lonestar

Yes, I totaaly agree about the Lonestar liking boost pedals. For my lead sound, I experimented at length with the pedal setup I had successful used with my Marshalls, i.e. OCD into the ‘overdrive’ channel for a soaring lead tone. However, Into the Lonestar’s second channel, I found the OCD...

New Found Love for Mesa Lonestar

I’m relatively new to a gorgeous LSC 2x12 as well. Had to get a flight case to transport it to gigs though as that single strap on the top does not make carrying it easy.

Ah, just read your earlier post and see that you have the Lonestar special, in which case your manual is this one.... http://www.mesaboogie.com/media/User%20Manuals/LS_Special.pdf
