Hey man am intrigued about this step up. Would be grateful if u could guide us through how you set up this up? Cheers Alex

    Mark Five 25 clarity needed!

It's 'in the mids' is the simple answer, but other things you can try is: - disengaging the GEQ or using it as a solo boost inverted V shape, - lower the gain to get the clarity, - trying different speakers - fiddling with the tone controls whilst jamming - telling your keyboardist to stop...

    RA-100 w/ Suhr guitar - live video - thoughts?

Man congrats sounds great and unique. What are you influences? I hear a hint of Tool, Perfect Circle meets Muse.

    Just got a second-hand Mark V

Man those options gives me severe GAS! How do you compare the pristine cleans ? The reason why I'd consider the mini Recto amp is mainly the vintage gain channel to get me the Petrucci ballpark tone as in DT Live at The Budokan dvd. What switching system do you use ? I'd just have the 2 heads...

    Just got a second-hand Mark V

Bondsong - what sort of cabs are you using ? Elvis - I see you have both a V25 and mini recto...if you had the choice over again, would you have the same setup or x2 V25s for flexibility ? (Sorry for the thread derail).

    V25 for early Mark tones

Great stuff. Anyone got any tips for how u utilise the crunch mode on channel 1 but also having a "basic" cleanish sound ? Cheers.

    wah wahs

Nathan, I agree. I have a CAE wah and think it's great, if you have tried it how does it compare to the Dunlop rack wah? Alternatively which pedal do you consider best gets close to the rack wah? Thanks.

JP's demo MkV 25 settings in amplitudes for real?

Yes and you've seen that he is running them at 25w and volume at noon, which is pretty **** loud so it may not be at gain or compressed at that level. Also he's fiddled with the settings a bit from the mini recto to the 4x12.

    V 25 crunch mode

Thanks mind sharing your best settings on channel 2 inc the geq? I too have gotten close results on the iic+ but there a tightens in crunch mode that still escapes me.

    V 25 crunch mode

Has anyone had any success in replicating, ballpark, the crunch mode in channel 2 ? I'd love to have the channel 1 set as clean, then channel to that marshally crunch on channel 2. Alternatively does the TA 15 crunch get that vibe or some other amp ? Cheers.

    Yes the RA-100 does Metal!(Video).

Sounds awesome. Sounds not unlike the Mark series really. Almost a cross btw a Mark and Vox or even Marshall ?

    Recommend pedalbaord set-up

Like different camel varieties, a hump is still a hump being it big or smaller than the original. Plus these are proven pedals from guitar gods. Will look into the Maxon tho.

    Recommend pedalbaord set-up

The reason for the Keeley TS9 is not so much the many features, but that is useful too, need that mid range hump for leads (not so much for gain/boost) and something that doesn't cut bass. My view is that if its good enough for Vai/Petrucci then it can't be half bad.

Mark IV with Tech 21 Power Engine

    If its a MK 4a u can't use an external satellite speaker setup, MK 4b u can. U didn't specify whether it's an a or b. presumably a b.

Why? Just use the recording out of the Mark and your good to go.

Using two TC Flashback delays ?

TGP is trawling with TF vs Timeline comparisons. Have you tried the TL to verify that it's that much better than the TF? Btw these two pedals have too much features for me to use.

Using two TC Flashback delays ?

Been doing a lot of research and for a straight forward and versatile digital delay pedal the FB cannot be beat. Played at church over weekend with my reburbished Mark IV and I definitely require 3-4 different delay sounds. The Timefactor, and Timeline are very appealing but I won't be needed...
