For Sale - Mark V Combo with upgraded speaker

Hello all, I am selling my Mark V Combo. I will post photos tomorrow, but I wanted to paste a quick note here to check interest before I list it on Reverb. It's in mint condition, has the original footswitch, padded cover, and casters. I'm looking for $1,800 plus actual shipping. I'll ship...

Mark V "Out for Delivery" today!

My Mark V combo is on the UPS truck and will be here today! I am so stoked. Unfortunately, work is slammed this week and I won't be able to really put it through its paces until this weekend. Once I do, I'll report back. Woohoo!

I've rejoined the Boogie Family - Mark V combo

Hello fellow Mesa fans! After many years chasing every boutique amp on the planet, I find myself back at the Mark V. I owned a Mark V head and a combo at different times in the past, but I don't think I gave either one a fair shake. I grew up a Marshall guy, so the highly interactive EQ of the...

Problem with dirt pedals in my Electra-Dyne

I'm trying distortion pedals in the clean channel of my ED, and when I get to the high gain sections, it sounds terrible. It sounds like the speaker is farting. I'm not cranking up the volume on these pedals, so I'm a little confused as to why I'm getting this result. I get similar results...

Need pedal help with my ED

Hey guys, I'm trying some higher gain pedals through the clean channel of my ED, and they are sounding surprisingly similar. I've used these pedals with other amps, and they don't sound alike at all. The two most notably similar are the Fulltone OCD and Mad Professor Mighty Red Distortion...

I'M BACK - Electradyne owner once again

Hello again! I bought a small combo ED right when they came out, but I didn't like the small sound it had, and sold it within a few months. I got a Mark V last year, and although it was nice, I didn't bond with the high gain. Also, I didn't think it took gain pedals very well, so it had to...

Just got a Mesa Rectifier 4x12 for those stadium gigs...

... on the schedule  I wish! I traded an inexpensive amp I'm not using and a Bogner cube for a mint Rectifier 4x12 loaded with British V30s. It's huge, and it sounds great with the Mark V. But I won't be humping it to most of our shows. Once the weather warms up, we play some...

Why the Mark V has replaced my AXE-FX as my main gig rig

I never thought the day would come when an amp would dethrone my Axe-FX. But it has. For those of you who don't have much experience with an Axe-FX, it is, in short, the real deal tube amp replacement. Once you learn to dial it in, you can get virtually any amp tone out there. And perhaps...

1st live show with the Mark V - Gig Report

Fellow Boogers, I played my first show with the new Mark V head on Friday night. I ran it through an Egnater USA 2x12 closed back cabinet with a single Eminence Delta Lite II neodymium speaker. I was a little nervous gigging with an amp I'd only had for a week (I usually like to get to know...

Ok, now that I finally have a Mark V, I realize...

This thing is awesome! I have mostly been a Marshall-type amp guy for over 30 years, which means I've had to accept that I'll never have great cleans in a good distortion amp. I have had some great amps over the years, and many of them did some things VERY well. I loved my Engl SE (I should...
