**SOLD** FS: Mark iib 60W combo

Hello! $800 + shipping (or pick-up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area) I have a Mark iib in excellent condition for sale. It has spent its whole life in an orange anvil case, which is included in the sale. It's the 60W version with reverb, no (tone-sucking) GEQ and the JBL speaker. This amp has NO...

    DC 10 problem

Sorry for the late reply! Vacation to see family for xmas and all... Thanks for the tip! I will definitely check that out. Unfortunately, I sold my cab because I'm moving from Texas to Minneapolis in 4 days! The only amp I kept was the DC-10. I'm very excited to tinker around and see if this...

    DC 10 problem

Hi, it's been a while since my last post. Still loving my DC-10, but now I'm having some problems. After a few minor mods (which I reversed afterwards), a screen grid resistor (and the main fuse) blew, so I replaced them and the filter caps. Now, there is a very LOUD pop when switching from...

Sad news... I'm selling my DC-10 head(Dallas/Ft. Worth area)

Here's a crummy little stock "metal" clip I recorded for you guys... https://sites.google.com/site/adamlanghans/Home/test.mp3?attredirects=0&d=1 No EQing of any kind, just a little reverb on the lead part. Keep in mind, I haven't played around with the settings too terribly much, but you...

Sad news... I'm selling my DC-10 head(Dallas/Ft. Worth area)

On the lead channel, I bypassed the fixed tone stack after V2a, going from pin 1 on V2 to the gain pot with a .047uf cap and a 480k resistor (one, then the other). I also tried this with a .022uf cap first, and there was a difference, but I had been doing mods for a while and knew that ear...

Sad news... I'm selling my DC-10 head(Dallas/Ft. Worth area)

Alright, forget this thread. I just did a killer mod to this thing, giving it more gain that I could dream of

    GEQ?

Well, there are lots of factors, but I'm using 4x12 cab with V30s and I barely touch the GEQ mids. For reference, I am in a progressive death metal-ish sort of band. We always get multiple compliments on our live guitar tones.

    GEQ?

In my opinion, the whole scooped V thing sounds completely terrible. The GEQ is awesome, however, for taming those monstrous, booming, sometimes muddy lows. This and adjustments according to speakers make it very useful, although for different reasons that you'd expect. I use a DC-10, though...

Sad news... I'm selling my DC-10 head(Dallas/Ft. Worth area)

PRICE $900 OBO I'm getting married and trying to downsize my guitar rig to fund the wedding and honeymoon. I'll be sad to get rid of this, and I'll probably regret it later, but you gotta do what you gotta do. This thing is really heavy, so I don't want to ship it, but if you're willing to...

Best humbuckers for the Mark V?

I agree that lowering the volume knob doesn't get the best tones, too. I just added that in case someone else liked how it sounded. It is all opinions... I get the best tonal effects of lowering the pickups from dimarzios, though. (For reference, I haven't played Duncan that I liked)

    New DC-10 Owner

You'll like it a lot more after playing with the eqs, your guitar, and tubes. There are tons of things you can do to pull different tones out of this beast. Yes, it can be frustrating at times, but don't give up!

2 tube red plate then ok?

Perhaps a tube wasn't pushed in all the way?

Best humbuckers for the Mark V?

Does anybody here realize that pickup height is adjustable? I've tried many many pickups, and I've found that it's best to get a high-output pickup and lower the height if you want that classic feel. It's better to have leeway, in my opinion. Another option is just turning your volume knob on...

2 tube red plate then ok?

If it can happen once, it can happen again. Something is wrong.

Bad Presence pot on .50 cal

Perhaps someone modded it into a variable Negative Feedback Resistor?

    Petrucci using AXEFX

I finally had a chance to play one of these and WOW, this thing is over-hyped. The effects were entertaining, but this thing sounded pretty digital to me. I had my suspicions from youtube videos, but I wouldn't judge a tone completely from a mystery recording. Well, I guess some people just...

    James Hetfield's 2008 rig pix

That happens mainly because of whatever speaker/cabinet you use and the room you play in. I agree about changing your tone for a band setting. The only thing I change, though, is the highs. They affect the human ear differently at louder volumes. That, along with most clubs having too much...
