I concur. The difference is very significant in terms of the aformentioned feel as well as tone. I usually play dry as consequence. And thats no bad thing at all with the voice and response that hard bypass gives you.

Yeah I did it and it does sound fatter, richer and less fizzy...balls-tastic. Loving it. Had been a while for me too. Sounds great even through valvestate cabs...! Smooth as a cashmere codpiece.

Aye. At the moment the grill is 'off' in the frame. You can see where the grill meets up each edge that it appears to be in there at a skewed angle like its got a diagonal rotation. Would look way better squared right. Good proof of concept though. Looks kinda Vox-y.

I've had two, too. Combo and head, and with both of 'em turning the vol to 'no output' was not a problem.

Depends if Im using the amp with FXloop engaged or not. If its engaged, I use mine as Dirty Rhythm 1. (Crunch for aggressive fast stuff, Mark 1 (Graphic EQ off) for big fat vintage rock..Edge for some low gain blues stuff- Sticking to 1 usually for live) Channel 3 then provides the opposite...

Can you not replace the fuse, and switch to diode rectification til you get a replacement tube?

Hi Gman, Ive had two. The combo I had's one was on the right hand side of the underside of the chassis. (If memory serves) That was in the 800s. But my current one (a head in the upper 3000s) has it on the underside of the chassis underneath and between the 4 ext switching jacks and the fx loop...
