    Studio 22 content inside!

I would also like to point out I saw a video of an interview with Randall Smith about the making of the TA 15. He mentioned the Studio 22, saying that it had "A lot of commonality" with the TA 15. Smith said many higher priced Boogies (including Marks) have borrowed certain elements from the...

    Studio 22 content inside!

Hello all. I have been the happy owner of an Express 5:25 since 2007. I bought it to use only for small gigs, but have since discovered that it is quite perfect for me in any situation, as I never play without a mic/pa. A few months back, I had a wonderful craigslist transaction, where I...

Footswitch option for Clean to Crunch & Blues to Burn

The obvious solution is to have two expresses!

Does the 5:25 sound good at low volume?

Playing in churches is my specialty. Are you mic'd? Tell me about the room.

I am looking to convert a couple of combos to head/cabs.

Thanks, Edward! I recently purchased a dovetail jig, and have found a suitable local supplier of maple lumber. As soon as I can find a deal on a used biscuit jointer, I will be constructing my first head and cab. PICS WILL FOLLOW!

You have lost ground. Try a different outlet/circuit.

I am looking to convert a couple of combos to head/cabs.

Well, I picked up the studio for next to nothing. I have yet to get it to switch over to the drive channel. I know the clean channel does break up pretty nice, though!

I am looking to convert a couple of combos to head/cabs.

I have an Express 5:25, as well as a Studio .22. Does anyone here have experience building head shells for these units, or have access to plans for them? I am working on acquiring a dovetail jig, and several board feet of flamed maple. I also am open to suggestions for cabinet specs (open...

Just came across a sweet deal on an '87 Studio .22

$250ish with a bad power transformer. Deal?

Electronics peeps! I am building a switcher, please review.

OK. I plan to use my old twin reverb as a clean channel, and then use my express 5:25 as dirty and lead channels. I want to use the same FX loop for both amps, but as the twin does not have a loop, all of my loop FX will have to be routed to the front of the Twin. The idea is to use the 3PDT...

Are good cables REALLY worth the extra dosh?

All cables, by design, are capacitors. Could you please explain what makes one cable more capacitive than another?

    First Delay Pedal

The red box is programmed to switch banks down and toggle input modes. it is not as complicated as it sounds. :) The TF has inputs for "AUX switch" which can use up to a three button switch with TRS cable, expression, and MIDI. PS, I am glad to help in any way I can. Like you, the main goal...

    First Delay Pedal

Suhr, I see that you play "Christian Alternative". Does this include worship music? Do you guys use a click track/loop? If so, please note that to get the delay sounds used on a lot of today's christian recordings, your delay has to be perfectly timed to the click. Tap tempo is not reliable...

    Boost/overdrive help

I would think long and hard before putting a drive pedal in front of your amp. The overdrive sounds on an express are pretty epic, I think I would keep experimenting with the amp's tones before doing anything else. Are you using the second channel ever?

Guitar volume control and output volume of amp

I will say this. On my board, I have two Ernie Ball volume pedals. One in front of the amp (preamp) and one in the loop (power amp). I use the crunch channel with gain and master about 12:00 o'clock. 5W mode. With a les paul, I can get real crunchy, or roll back my preamp volume to about...

Are good cables REALLY worth the extra dosh?

Here is a test. "Ring out" your cables with a mulitmeter. You will find for similar length cable, the resistance is similar across brands. This is the only factor that will "inhibit" sound, the resistance of the conductor. Now, interference is another question. So long as the insulation is...

    Poor Gibson

I have a 2002 ES-135 with 57 Classics in it. I absolutely love this guitar. It stays perfectly in tune, has wonderful tone, is well adjusted. I did purchase it, however, with a hairline crack in the top level of laminate on the top, protruding 1.5" from the f fole. This crack has been...
