I just played the Recto Pre through my Mark V on the 10w setting. The tube rectification made the preamp REALLY come to life. Much different that the Direct recording output. When I switched to the Diode rectification, there was a noticeable difference in the feel and sound of everything. I...

Pretty awesome amp for just room playing through a mixer or an interface to the CPU. Gets that recto sound down pretty well.

I would like to know how the speaker is attached to the cable in the combo version of the Mark V. I know the 1/4'' goes into the amp, but what does it look like on the other end? Just curious if I can use another amp with the speaker in the mark v. I was hoping it was just another 1/4''...

Superb information, thank you! my interest peaked last night, and I threw in an old gold pin EH 12ax7 in v1, and there is quite a difference form the mesa 12ax7. Looking forward to trying this NOS tube stuff.
