    Where to buy a relay?

My Single Rec series 2 has a very noisy relay.Tap on it with a chopstick and all hell breaks loose! There is a hum/buzz that's in the signal at all times as well now. It's the one I put a check mark on. Google didn't help me find any. None at Mouser. Where do you get them? MR62-6N51

    STR-454's NIB....NOT!

I buy a pair of Mesa STR-454's. The seller claims they are "New In The Box". The price was right at $45 shipped. Here's what showed up today, Scratched and burned bases, slightly yellowed/faded white lettering and as a bonus they come in svetlana EL-34 boxes! Some folks are just...

    RFT vs. Tungsgram

RFT vs. Tungsgram This is in my single rec, V1. The RFT is darker. Nice grunt to it. This particular tube is very quiet Tungsgram is bright and crunchy. "Clearer" sounding that the RFT. You must turn down the presence compared to the RFT. Right now I'm digging the Tungsgram. I got these...

Actual Output of a Single Rec

I put the single rec on the bench and measured it's actual output power. I sent a 100mV 1kHz signal into the amp, running into an 8 ohm load. Power tubes are Ruby 6L6GCMSTR (same as Mesa STR-440) biased at 30mA The amp delivered 41 watts clean, and 93 watts maxed out

    NAD, Solo50

I've been Mesa-less for about 3 years, but today I traded my plexi clone for a v2 Single Rectifier head. I'm still in the honeymoon phase, so I won't go on and on about it...yet. Can I get an idea of when it was made? Ser no. is S50-05551. How about pre-amp tube choices? What are you folks...

    MKIII with 7581A's

I put a set of JAN Phillips 7581A power tubes in my MKIII recently. I gotta say these do sound pretty friggin' good. I had been running a set of SED EL34/6L6's, and thought highly of that set-up. My MKIII was modded to have an adjustable bias. I'm running the outer pair at 52mA (in Class A)...

    Studio 22+

I bought this amp used in 1991, and I can't ever imagine parting with it! In this pic it has a Weber "Silver Bell" speaker in it. GREAT speaker! I've also used an EVM12L in it. Those 20 or-so watts really can drive that speaker quite well! 8)

    MKIII, Exposed!

Hello! :D I bought myself a PURPLE stripe MKIII Simul-Class head this past summer. I added a bias adjustment pot, and changed all the electrolytic caps, as well as a few ceramic tone caps to silver mica's. I also added 2.7k 2watt screen grid resistors on the "Class A" tube sockets. This was...
