    Lonestar with pedal steel?

I'm looking to get a pedal steel in the future and was wondering if I'd need to get a separate amp or could just plug it into my Lonestar! Thanks.

Me playing some mean country licks on my Lonestar!

Hey, I recorded this today. My main clean channel sounds like a crackling campfire, so I have to take the **** thing back into the shop  so I used the "Tweed" setting, which is still rather noisy. Ugh, tube amps. Anyways, the recording didn't come out too bad. Read the vid...

Any reason not to crank the loop volume all the way up?

I just switched to the Digitech Hardwire Delay and Chorus pedals, which have higher voltage capacity than most other pedals, so if damaging them or making the signal clip is out of the question is there any reason not to max out the loop volume?

    Why All The Noise??

I have a Mesa Boogie Lonestar 2x12 combo. My main two electric guitars are a Fender 50's Series Telecaster and a Hamer Californian Elite. I have shielded both guitars with copper and potted the pickups on the Tele. My amp and all pedals are running into a Furman SS-6B power conditioner that has...

All True Bypass pedals in the fx loop??

Is it okay to have all TB in the loop? I guess what I'm asking is if the loop has a buffer in it that can drive the cables to and fro and into the pedals. Thanks!

Should the tone controls add noise?

If I turn any of the tone controls on the amp past 12 o'clock it introduces a lot more hiss/noise. Is this normal? I have a 2x12 combo. Thanks.

    Electrical issues...common?

I get weird sounds out of my amp due to electrical happenstances. If I switch the ceiling fan off in my room the amp pops. Today I took the amp to a friend's place, and he had a fan plugged in across the room out of a different outlet, and the whole time my amp was making weird noises. He...

T.C. Electronic Chorus was making NOISE!!

I've had noise issues since day one with my Lonestar and little by little I've been whittling them down. Yesterday I did some intense troubleshooting with my pedalboard and found out that with my TC Chorus in front of the amp and the amp on channel 2 (gain on) it was producing a loud hum. I...

Finally got my Mesa back from the shop...2 months!! + video!

I don't know if you guys remember, but I had made a few posts about my Lonestar having a few problems. Well, it has been to two authorized repair guys. The first guy was a complete idiot and I even complained to Mesa about him. He charged me and didn't fix anything. He doesn't even play...

My favorite video demonstrating the Lonestar.

This guy has some KILLER tone. He's the reason I'm probably going to pick up an Xotic BB, as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RIVVvGYsAA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkXTb...eature=related Obviously he's going for the more higher gain possibilities of the amp, but good tone is good...

Xotic BB or Barber Small Fry?

I really like Andy Timmons' demo of the BB, but the GuitarShop demo on YouTube doesn't do much for me. However, the GuitarShop demo of the Small Fry sounds great. First off, Timmons uses the BB to grit up his clean channel tone. Isn't using channel two's "clean" switch supposed to do the same...

    Rattle noise in back??

Do you guys get a rattling sound from the back of your amp? I can't figure it out if it's a tube or the reverb pouch or what. I noticed when I'm playing somewhat loudly when I hit certain notes I get a lot of rattle also, I think from the reverb cuz it sounds kind of pingy. I've messed with...

Reverb creates noise? Amp noisy in general?

Hey, I noticed as soon as I kick in some reverb I get a lot of noise, especially a low hum. The more I crank the worse it gets. Is this normal? I'm using an MXR smartgate, but I still deal with a bit of noise from this amp. Anyone else? I changed my pedal order a couple of times, and it...

How many mics do you use and what type?

For both live and studio, how do you mic your amp. What models, what positions? Multiple mics?

    Sound Choking Problem..

I was playing a gig today, and I noticed when I hit the solo function, which was set at about 2 oclock the notes started to choke, like it was crackling/cutting off and on, so I had to turn the volume down. Has anyone else ever had this problem? What's causing it?

Highest you ever set your volume knob?

Dealing with home stereos and whatnot I generally never put the volume past 12. So far with the Lonestar the highest I've put the volume is on 1. How high do you go, and is there a range where it is not safe for the amp?

    ATTN: Barber Tone Press Owners

I got one recently, and am having trouble figuring out what some good setting on it are, especially in correlation with specific amp settings, and according to style of music. Could you guys help me out? As of right now I'm not sure it was worth the purchase. My amp sounds great when I'm...

Used my Lonestar for the first time with a band...

I rehearsed with a country group today. Drums, Keys, Bass, Vocals. I had to prop it up on a piano bench cuz it was hard to hear what was going on. It sounded very muddy to me. I think next time I'm going to bring a Shure SM57 and mic it...send it to the PA they have there. Do you guys mic...

Jekyll & Hyde OR Son of Hyde??

Trying to figure out what pedal to get for my Lonestar. I like the drive channel of the lonestar, so I'm wondering if having the Jekyll portion of the pedal is worth getting. Would using the Jekyll give the same kind of sound as using Channel 2 on the "clean" setting, where it's just clipping...
