I seem to be in the minority in that I love the dirty channel of the Lonestar. For heavier tones I picked up a Digitech Hardwire SC-2 Valve Distortion. The pedal is absolutely marvelous. It picks up where channel 2 leaves off giving you the full rich tone of a cranked Dual Rectifier.
Thanks!! It's a MIM Classic 50's Tele. Got it for 20% off at Sam Ash for a total of $600. Best guitar in the store, imo. I had gone in to get a Gretsch G5120 at the time and picked that sucker up and was floored. I'll get the Gretsch somewhere down the road.
Hey, I recorded this today. My main clean channel sounds like a crackling campfire, so I have to take the **** thing back into the shop  so I used the "Tweed" setting, which is still rather noisy. Ugh, tube amps. Anyways, the recording didn't come out too bad. Read the vid...
I just switched to the Digitech Hardwire Delay and Chorus pedals, which have higher voltage capacity than most other pedals, so if damaging them or making the signal clip is out of the question is there any reason not to max out the loop volume?
I have a Mesa Boogie Lonestar 2x12 combo. My main two electric guitars are a Fender 50's Series Telecaster and a Hamer Californian Elite. I have shielded both guitars with copper and potted the pickups on the Tele. My amp and all pedals are running into a Furman SS-6B power conditioner that has...
Is it okay to have all TB in the loop? I guess what I'm asking is if the loop has a buffer in it that can drive the cables to and fro and into the pedals. Thanks!
I dragged my amp into another room and first tried straight in with the loop off. Then with the pedals hooked up on loop on. I think the main problem was being near my computer, which seems to add a lot of noise. I don't understand because I have my guitars shielded and potted, and I plug the...
I get weird sounds out of my amp due to electrical happenstances. If I switch the ceiling fan off in my room the amp pops. Today I took the amp to a friend's place, and he had a fan plugged in across the room out of a different outlet, and the whole time my amp was making weird noises. He...
hmm...my bonehead actually tried playing the chorus with the compressor on and it tamed the high end! the beginning of notes were popping a little so i may have to make some adjustments, but maybe that's all i really need to do is use the compressor. the only thing that sucks about that is...
