Help troubleshooting a 3-ch dual rec?

Update: I took it to a tech last night and he spotted an issue right away. The V2 noval socket had been repaired by the previous owner (shoddily - as you can see in the pic) and as soon as I attempted to pull the tube it partially broke free. This probably explains my secondary issue. Hopefully...

Help troubleshooting a 3-ch dual rec?

The problem: I was playing the other night with my band and there was a sudden and significant volume drop. The tone after the volume drop was also noticeably crackly/noisy. I immediately checked the power tubes for failure but none of the power tubes were brighter than the rest. So i powered...

"island case" company for mesas... anyone used?

I've got the same one for my Recto and for the money, it does the job I need it to...which is to protect my amp from the elements and from the occasional bump or scratch while being loaded to and from my car once or twice a week.

FRIGGING EPIC! DBZ Bolero Banneret - $800USD

I like the look of the ornamentation but i'm not sure it's something i'd want to play. I do like the look of their other guitars though. I'll definitely try to check one out next time i'm in Maine.

FRIGGING EPIC! DBZ Bolero Banneret - $800USD

I've been browsing through their website since you posted that pic in the gibson thread and they've got some fantastic looking guitars. I'd love to know what the quality is like. It'd be **** near impossible to get my hands on one to try unless i wanted to drive to their nearest dealer in Maine...

    mesa transatlantic!

The head is available for $829 at Axe Music in Canada so i'd expect to find them at that price or cheaper in the US. Edit: $859 at sweetwater.com

    Soldering Pickups

These are a big help, or you could just make something similar with a couple of gator clips. I use it for pedal building but it might be helpful for keeping things in order in a tight spot inside a guitar.

New Mesa Boogie Transatlantic small amp on their website!

cute! It looks to be aimed at the Dual Terror market. 25/15/5 watts and two channels. I'd be surprised if Mesa could match Orange in the price department though, what with the Tiny and Dual Terror amps being made overseas. Any idea on what this is going to retail for?

    Hey DIYers

I'm still feeling out this aspect of my hobby  . I started out building a couple bypass loopers which turned out fine...then i tried modding a DS-1 but that didn't work out so well and then moved on to a DD-3 which turned out well. Then i built a BYOC flanger which looks stunning but i'm...

    The Police & Mark V

Ugh, it seems we're now starting a noise battle of our own. The band i jam with rehearses in the attic of an old house, which admittedly has almost no insulation and the noise does project but we don't play deafeningly loud. We practice once a week, between 6-9 pm...ALWAYS shutting down by 9 or...

    Made in China!

It's more than just believing in what they do. A key part of why Toyota is successful (note: they are struggling pretty bad right now too) is that their vehicles cost thousands of dollars less to manufacture right here in North America than their american counterparts do. This is largely due to...

    Back to Mesa

The other guitarist in my band uses a JSX and it plays real nice with my DR. His is voiced with more mids and highs and a grittier distortion, while i've got mine tuned to the low mids with the gain dialed back a bit from his and they compliment each other beautifully. Still, he is terribly...

    are you serious?

i think some guitarists get a little sore on the subject because it sort of cheapens the amount of hard work and dedication that it takes to become an accomplished player. it's a skill that most of us have spent countless hours and most of our lives learning, but that can be emulated with flashy...
