All i can say is WOW!!
I have mark V third channel dialed in mkc+ triode/90watt mode and third ch on the mark IV head dialed with harmonics/triode/pres pulled, so very identical tones at the moment to see the differences between the two heads!! I totally see what people see/hear when they...
Interesting replies thus far, thanks for replying guys as im noticing many readers but not even close to the same ratio in replies.. what gives ?? ( to those that aren't replying). Why would you not reply and voice your opinion?? That is what i WANT to read and see, i love the idea of a...
STRICTLY talking lead channels on both amps.. having nothing to do with versatility / clean/ crunch channels r2etc im talking specifically lead channel wise for rhythm/leads which mark series amp do you prefer and why?
I'm having a HELL of a time deciding depending on my ears in the day im...
Minor update, i did make a video of the Mark iii and mark iv it is about 5minutes long with the mark iii red stripe first and then the mark iv. both are lead channel comparisons.. im going to upload the link anyways but for future sake does anyone know of any place i can get a .mod to .mov...
yes good point, the cab makes a huge difference. Just for saying's sake, im using a 4x12 bogner cab with 2 v30s in the bottom and 2 h30s in the top. So the bottom speakers are tight while the h30s are a bit more greenbackish in terms of bass response. I have the 80z slider close to the mid...
I'll add this notion or idea  to this thread, if enough people are interested i could look into posting a comparison vid between the iv lead ch and the mark iii red stripe lead ch. Ofcourse i will use pull deep on the III to stay along lines of the thread.
What do you guys...
edge, try it! Try increasing th epresence with pull deep out. I used to have pres at 1.5-2 with it pushed.. there is "something" about when pull deep is out that makes it sound incredible. I think i understand why most peoples settings use it  Now if you pushed it in and increased...
This is a nice clip man good stuff! Regardless of the sound due to the cam you can tell it sounds f'n huge and powerful in the room when loud like that. When I listen to that clip it makes me want one and I wonder if it is worth it to get a mark v when i already have a iv and iii red stripe is...
I normally dont use pull deep (master vol knob pulled) on my red stripe but lately tried it. At first i thought it sounded too woofy and muffled, until I put the presence up higher than i could when pull deep was pushed in. Presence on 3.5 -4.5 made it sound more in your face and amazingly...
thanks for the feedback. I tend to go lower on the gain than higher personally all the time when dialing in amps. This way im used to playing with less so when i do turn up more gain i can play much easier. Even with the treb from 7 to 7.5 and the mids to 4 instead of 5.5 makes it more in...

I have been listening to this album lately and decided to figure out some riffs and record them all in a little medley!!
Hey,
I think it is a B model based on yr alone. I have a 1993 mark iv B combo and its serial is 6676. I know mesa says after 6700 serial wise is B models but yours and mine are clearly prior to that so there is some flex here.. hope this helps.
P.S -- this easiest way to tell is to simply...
duoh.. i was afraid of that! the mic was really sensitive (camera mic is what i am using here, i've got a sm57 but i dont know how to record it with the vid im techless on this issue lol)
The guitar acoustically you can hear the picking so clear so i know it is hard to judge.
The low end...
