Anyone send their IV in for a service going over at Mesa, what did it change (besides fixing some obviously broken function)? Is the packing a hassle (any tips on that)? I always pined for a mark IV and picked one up a couple of years ago. The amp is the only Mark IV I've personally had...

I've been looking for a JP2C for a few months (and maybe in the wrong spots), haven't been finding any stock. Also noticed at least one site stopped listing it. Anybody know where any stock is located. Wondering if I'll need to special order it.

I would say Mark III is least compressed between the III,IV,V. Though I don't find the V compressed, just III is a bit more open. For example the Triaxis is really compressed compared to the III,IV,V. IVb is a bit darker so perhaps that comes off as compressed. It took me longest to get my tones...

I have both a Mark V 90 and Roadster (which is a recto) and the Mark V is better sounding at lower volumes. Really need to crank the Roadster to get beyond fizz. I also tend to run the Mark V on variac power and 45 watts. So I'd agree with the other poster that if you are bedroom then Mark V 25...

Mark series either old or new. Mark III, Mark V 25,35,90.. will cover all that ground for you. I'd recommend a head with a cab vs the combo.

When I ran WDW I split the input and slaved. No interaction between slave and speaker with those 3 mesa amps (none where jp2c). Mesa better known for answering the phone than email, considering giving them a call.

I'd like to add an EL84 amp to my arsenal as well. I keep adding more marks though :lol: . I really liked the TA15/30. Also had a lot of fund with DR Maz18.

I'd guess LSC would be closer to the V because LSC is 6L6 based where as LSS is el84. Would expect the 6L6 to be bolder and the el84 to bounce more.

That's funny I have cabs with ET65 and have always wondered how it compares to an EVM12L :lol: One cab with VET30 & ET65 that I prefer with Mark V. And the other with ET65 & Liberator (appears to be discontinued by WGS), pairing used with RA100. Just contact WGS and ask, as they know speakers..
