It's too loud for me to get to where it's dirty. I tried an attenuator once and didn't care for it. But that's perfectly fine for me because it takes pedals so well, and it's more like a 2-channel amp with pedals. Sounds great with a Flux Drive or an Xotic SL Drive.

If you can find one, I'd recommend checking out a Blue Angel. It will get you that Fender sound plus a Vox sound plus a blend of both. It won't get very dirty on its own but should sound great with an OCD

I don't have separate cabinets but I paired a Celestion G12H30 with one of the original V30s in my Maverick, and it sounds much better now; they compliment each other well.

The power tubes are less important than the preamp tubes as far as overdrive is concerned. Have you checked the preamp tubes? Are they all 12AX7?

It was a circumstantial issue (for lack of a better term). Normally, I have my effects chain all setup before I power up the amp. On the few occasions when I experienced this problem, I was swapping different pedals (a FluxDrive and a Big Muff) into the chain while everything was powered up.
