    Mark IIC+ Original vs. Upgrade

This question always gets a great reaction from Mike Bendinelli at Mesa. You can hear him shaking his head over the phone. Same amp. No difference. It's just people pay more for a non upgrade. As stated the transformer is the only difference. I have an upgraded DRG with a 100 transformer. They...

    Reverb.com IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY!

If FedEx packed the amp it's on FedEx. Just like a UPS store that packs the item for you. There is a tick box in the shipping info that they use to determine who packed it. If you packed it and it got damaged they almost always deny the claim. They have rules to follow at the stores and that...

Has the release of the JP-2C affected original mkiic+ value?

It's always funny to hear people talk about a modded C to C+. It's the same amp, same tone, same feel. It's not a variation of a c+. It is a c+ after the mod. I spoke with Mike B about this and he laughs and states it is a C+ when i'm done with it. Point is, it's the best value for a C+. I...

The cheapest IIC+ I can afford

You don't need an EQ. It is nice to have sure. But the amp isn't garbage without it. I've owned a C+ in that exact configuration and it was a fantastic amp. Nothing beats a C+. A Mark III is not the same. Mesa makes a 5 band EQ pedal that will work just fine or MXR for that matter. 1900 US...

Mark 2B lead channel really quiet.

As stated, check V3. I was installing my Mark IIC+ chassis into a combo cab and nicked the tip of the V3 tube. No lead lead channel volume as a result. I replaced the tube and back in service.

Current Market Value of IIC+ SR?

I would estimate a 60w C+ Combo with EVM and Reverb with no GEQ between 1700-2000. A few years ago it was less, more in the 1500 range but these are not coming up as frequently these days so it might fetch a little more.

Has the release of the JP-2C affected original mkiic+ value?

SamuelJ86 wrote: And the guys at mesa who made the originals are still there. GTS wrote: Yeah and many of us here know this as well. What's your point? I find it interesting that Mike B was a major contributor to the original C+. He is the one who designed the effects loop circuit. (correct me...

Has the release of the JP-2C affected original mkiic+ value?

I have owned plenty of C+s of every variety. I had sold them all at one point and decided to try the JP-2C instead of looking for another C+ I ended up selling it and buying another C+ DRG. The JP-2C is NOT the same as a real C+. I could go on to describe the differences in feel and tone but...

Mark IIC+ DRG and JP2C experience.

The 60/100 C+'s typically had the "Bright Reduction" mod to smooth out the amp. If you search on Bright Reduction there's a few topics on the subject. If you remove (change the cap values) it adds more brightness and edge to the amp. Metal players tend to like it better for that style. There...

Mark IIC+ DRG and JP2C experience.

Let me start off by saying the JP-2C is a great amp but it's JP version of what he likes, not me. I had the JP for a few weeks and thought the clean channel was fantastic. As for Ch2 and Ch3. Being that it was based off a 100w C+ with the bright option ala Doug West I found it hard to tame...

    JP2C in a combo..?

That would be cool but price for a combo like that would be at least 3500.00+

    Mesa JP-2C Review

The amp is a little more raw sounding than the simul-class which isn't bad thing only different. You can always soften it by plugging into the lower impedance speaker jack. 8 ohm into 4, 16 into 8 etc... The JP setting they suggest are extreme in that the gain is dimed. I like the organic tone...

    Mesa JP-2C Review

I received my JP-2C a couple of days ago. I have owned just about every incarnation of C+ made. From the 60 watt S,SR, SRG to the 60/100 HR, HRG, Simlu-Class DR, DRG, DRGx Coliseum C+ and even one of the factory C++'s (one of which Hatfield received) so I have a very good understanding of the C+...

    Speaker/cab thoughts

I've tried the horizontal 2x12, the vertical 2x12, the 1x12 Rectifier, Thiele, Thiele Widebody with my C+'s The best cab I played though was a 4x12 old style metal grilled cab with closed back EVL12L speakers. Heavy as hell though. The 2nd best cab I played through would be the Bogner 1x12...
