New Mark V 25- Volume Dropout Problem

I know anything is possible, but 1 brand new and 1 used amp with the same issue? I guess the brand new one was on the floor...would abuse on floor cause this? I know tube amps are pretty sensitive. Thanks

New Mark V 25- Volume Dropout Problem

Hello all, I purchased a barely used Mark V last weekend, brought it home, set it up and experienced a weird issue with the volume kinda rolling up and down intermittently. It went away for a couple sessions so I thought I had solved for it with a cable swap. Well it happened again friday, and...

Mesa Dual Rec Roadster Head- Lost Channel 1/2 AGAIN

So here is my update, went to get 12ax7 today at another stores and they only had the SPAX7, which I understood to be better replacements of the 12AX7. So I bought 3 of them and came home. I replaced V1 with brand new 12AX7 V2 Same V3 SPAX7 V4 Same V5 SPAX7 V6 Same Results? Same. Channel 3/4...

Mesa Dual Rec Roadster Head- Lost Channel 1/2 AGAIN

Thanks. These ones have no printing on them so assume they are the JJs. I couldn't locate any tubes in town Sunday but will try again this weekend and report back. Would the power tubes also be culprits or likely a set of preamp tubes for the fix?

Mesa Dual Rec Roadster Head- Lost Channel 1/2 AGAIN

Thank you both for the reply. I took it apart just now and confirmed Mesa 12AX7 in V 1-6. The power tubes are mesa 6L6 GC and the other 2 on the right are not matched (is this an issue?), one is a mesa 5U4GB and the other an ElectroHarmonix made in russia. I have 1 spare 12ax7 here, but feel...

Mesa Dual Rec Roadster Head- Lost Channel 1/2 AGAIN

Hello, another day, another issue with my beloved dual rec roadster 100w head. I use the amp maybe 5 to 10 hours a month at bedroom volume, so not abused at all, but this happens from time to time. Tonight, I was playing a song switching between clean channel and channel 4 and it cut out...

Media Dual Rec Roadster- No Channel 1 and 4 on 50w Mode, etc

Hi all, trying to trouble shoot a weird problem and cannot find anything in my manual or online. My Mesa dual Rec Roadster 100w head had some intermittent problems with channels. In middle of playing of a sudden channel 4 goes out, then channel 1, but 3 and 2 work. bBoth channel 1 and 4 go out...

Dual Rec Roadster Channell 3/4 died Suddenly :(

Yup you nailed it here thank you so much, I returned the recto tube today. I replaced both 3 and 4 just because and problem fixed instantly. The last thing I wanted to do was bring the amp in like they suggested, pull and plug tubes was way easier. Finally playing again!

Dual Rec Roadster Channell 3/4 died Suddenly :(

So my saga with this amp continues. The other night I was strumming along low volume with the amp that had not moved since I brought it home and mid chord my channel 3 died went totally mute, no weird noises or anything. I switched over to channel 4, and also nothing. However, channel 1 and 2...

Mesa Dual Roadster Continued Problems- intermittent shutting

Just spent another 2 weeks out of town so need to be back on this now. I don't think the fuse has made a difference, and Mesa seemed extremely uninterested in picking up the shipping for this amp, so that is last resort. The only thing I can think of that is easy is switching power cable. When...

Mesa Dual Roadster Continued Problems- intermittent shutting

I finally swapped the fuse out this evening and after about 30 mins of the mellowest playing session, sitting here reading a tab on the PC, not even strumming the thing, it just shut off completely. And about 3 minutes later, it turned back on. After another 5 mins of the amp just being on and...

Mesa Dual Roadster Continued Problems- intermittent shutting

Sorry for the lengthy delay here guys, I was in the US for 9 days for work and am just back this weekend now dealing with music related things. I did talk to mesa the day before I took off and they looked at the video and concluded that there was something in or around the fuse that was likely...

Mesa Dual Roadster Continued Problems- intermittent shutting

OK- the amp gremlins caught on camera! There are two videos here and I'm pretty sure it is now obvious what I'm dealing with (no 'sound' bar involved :? ) - Today I switched the amp power cable directly to the wall outlet and only kept the pedals in the POWER bar -I played very briefly today...

Mesa Dual Roadster Continued Problems- intermittent shutting

I just read what I wrote and should clarify, I meant power bar, not sound bar, sorry about the confusion! (I just recently purchased one so it must have been on my brain). That makes a big difference. The power bar is pretty heavy duty and high quality and I don't suspect this to be a problem...

Mesa Dual Roadster Continued Problems- intermittent shutting

Thanks for the discussion here everyone. For background info the amp has never left my house or the outlet it is plugged into through a brand new musician-quality sound bar. The house wiring is 5 years old and the only other thing on that circuit is a Mac computer. I've never had any other...
