Which pedal comes closest to the Mk IIC+ lead tone for you?

Yesterday I would've said f-o-r-g-e-t it. But on youtube I fell over some Fender Bassman and Deluxe Reverb *pedals* yes pedals made by Boss. And I thought WOW - wait a minute - this is pretty interesting. (I've always wanted a BFDR...) so if they can do it for Fender maybe someone can do it for...

New Boogie owner + settings help

Well done - great gift. When Mr Satriani visited Australia he did a clinic at my friends super store in Sydney where he was the manager and as such was asked to supply Marshall amps and Boss OD1 pedals (apparently Joe was travelling light on this trip...:-) Anyway before the gig we heard him...

    Limitations of the Triaxis

I followed the link to your web site and I really like your tone, I presume that was all with the Triaxis, it sounded like "the real deal" to me - good work. In theory you'd expect a Mark V to sound very similar to a Triaxis especially at the pre-amp stage, I know the V has so many power amp...

    5:50 = Too much bass?

What cabinet was this through? That makes all the difference, in particular ones like a Recto 4x12 or similar ones. When I first got my Recto4x12 I thought this is unusable! But as my playing technique adapted I began to think "it isn't too bad I suppose", but after a while "hey this is great -...

    Mark Series Vs. Rectifier Series

Yep good advice. Some amps apply tone settings first and then amplify, others amplify first and apply tone afterwards. (Pre-gain versus post-gain EQ...) Practically speaking, I'd say Mark series amps are optimized for their lead tone (they also have great cleans) but can do with some tone...

Thinkin of getting a Mark V - Combo vs Head

I would definitely get a head plus cab. Sound/electronics wise they're identical but it makes lugging a lot easier. I love my IIC+ 1x12 combo but it is pretty heavy and I imagine the V will be even heavier! As for 1x12 versus 2x12? Well my 1x12 completely smoked the other guitarist's Marshall...

2 Chan. Dual Rec, and Rectoverb Effects Loop Feedback

I have a 2ch DR, its loop works pretty well with digital and analog devices. I wonder if all your pre-amp tubes are in top shape? You can swap tubes around (but label them or something because if you're like me you'll forget which tube was where. Or if you have some innocuous analog pedal test...

    Mesa STR-415's?

They are absolute rubbish, and to help you out, just then them to me and I'll dispose of them for you :-) Ha ha, nah, they're great, my C+ came with a quartet only problem is to hear any kind of power tube overdrive in my music room I need to practically deafen myself. Good catch.

    Speaker to try

WOW - awesome post - many thanks! This re-affirms my love for V30, great appreciation for EV and lust for green backs ... but again I say WOW - this is the best speaker shootout I've ever seen. Cheers.

    New amp time!!!!!

Ha ha , what he ^ said. Well I reckon go TEST them all as much as you can - it's really all up to you! I figure both the Mark-V and Triaxis are AWESOME but they don't bring any new tones to the table, they re-hash the classic Boogie tones (*and I'm perfectly OK with that*) - so beyond classic...

Still selling my 2 channel is this a scam?

"have your money immediately" ... why the rush rush rush. Do not send him your full name or details, if anything send the photos, "get the approval", get the money, spend the money, wait 5 days and then you arrange for "your agent" to deliver the amp. Delivery address is different to address...

Is the Dual Rectifier still the right amp for me ?

Fix or replace that cable before you fry your amp :-) I figured my 2ch DR does not need pedals, there's enough gain already! But I was left frustrated during solos. And if Satch is attached to his OD1 and Malmsteen to his DOD, why shouldn't I give it a go? Well what do you know - bye bye...

    Going Mark Series ?

Yeah I agree! I have a C+, Triaxis, Quad, Dual Recto (2ch) and a Subway Rocket. I really like my DR - but that's the reason I went away from Marshall - it was Marshall, Marshall, or Marshall - it's one sound with different amounts of gain. The DR is pretty well the same in a Rectifier way...

    First Post (Mark III content)

Ha ha, that was my original spec too (still is). 1. CLEAN - yes do clean first! But "clean" is actually an allusion. One of the most sort after "sparkly" cleans is the Blackface Fender "clean" - but the irony is they're not clean at all - when you hit hard they will grit up as you say - and...

Couple of questions about the Mark V

Stop it - your gonna make me cry. I had a Studio Preamp (paid $300 bucks) - why why why did I sell it ....
