I have a Mesa Mark V that’s a couple of years old now. I play through it every day and have no issues. Now out of the blue I turn it on and there’s a loud hiss and you hear me strumming like in the background.

I was gonna order replacement tubes. Sound like that is the issue?

Never mind. Turns out it was the battery in my guitar for the active pickups. I have a brand new (about a month old) Alex Lifeson Epiphone and didn’t expect the battery to die so soon.

Perhaps you left the cable plugged in the guitar one day? That will eat the battery?
