For sale, here's as immaculate an example of a Mark III blue stripe long head amp as you'll ever see.

It's basically PERFECT. I've found no damage of any kind. No rust, no corrosion, just a little bit of dust here and there.

It's a 100 watter, non-simul-class.

It's freshly recapped and ready for another 30+ years of service. I just recapped it and it had 1988 date caps in it.

Its sound is just what a blue stripe is supposed to be. Rich and aggressive. I'm no expert on the IIC+ tone myself, but to me it reminds me a lot of that tone. If you're seeking that tone, this will get you REALLY close to it.

It appears to have had an R2 volume level mod done to it. R2 is at the same volume level as R1. Not that I have any use at all for Rhythm 2.

It will come with a lead/rhythm footswitch.

It comes WITH A ROAD CASE.

Cash price 1500 dollars plus fedex ground shipping cost. (Tends to be under 100 dollars.)

Trades: I'll trade for certain original JMP or JTM era Marshalls. A late 70s JMP master volume 100 watt model 2203 is ideal.

I might trade for certain Friedmans as well. Offer up what you have.

I just want to add that I've been playing this amp a lot in the past few days and it's an amazingly good amp. I'd really rather keep it than sell it, but I have to sell it to fund my other activities.

It's really amazing how good this amp sounds when turned way down low to bedroom practice late at night volume. I've never encounter another amp that retains a full sound at very low volume quite like this one.

The more I play it, the more sure I am that I'm pricing it fairly and if it doesn't sell I'll be thrilled to keep playing it, too.

I'm a little surprised that I've gotten no interest on this amp yet. I realize I could be impatient. (Yes, I am.) But am I pricing it above fair market value? Please say so if you think so.

Considering that a few months back I sold a black dot Mark III for 1300, I don't think my ASKING PRICE is so high that I shouldn't get counteroffers.

That's how this works. We start with my asking price, and if you're interested in the amp, you make an offer that's less.

We go back and forth a couple of times and find a price that's low enough to satisfy you and high enough to satisfy me.

I never said "This price is firm, don't offer less.".

This particular example is as clean as they get. It should be priced in the top range for a blue stripe long head loaded 100 watter.

You specifically asked for comment on whether people thought your price was above fair market value. Someone did. Because you asked for it.

For reference, I bought a rackmount Mark III red stripe in the summer in excellent condition, PayPaled and professionally packed/shipped, for $700. I think I got a good deal. Asking price was originally $800.

People may not value blue stripes and non-SimulClass as much as you think. And they may not know what resale value to put on a recap job. Either way, how much you enjoy playing it isn’t what dictates market value. And the follow up comments about how you’re sure you’re pricing it right doesn’t invite a whole lot of offers either.

Would you like me to email you a copy of the paypal transaction receipt? I'll do it. Send me your email address.

You can be very sure of one thing about me: I don't make stuff up. Honesty and integrity are my first priorities in life as a responsible adult.

I don't, I just sold one for $1800 plus shipping...export transformer and ++ mod from MB that I personally went back and forth at least 4x to have Mike tune it the way I wanted it and the amp smoked any blue stripe out there except a ++ Coliseum.

It's hard to back up what you say if you're lying. But when you're telling the truth, it's easy. Try me.
