Hi,
Was curious who else has the Mesa Boogie California Tweed 23 1x12 cabinet with the Jensen Alnico Blackbird speaker? And what head are you driving it with? I'm looking toward picking up a Mark V 25 in cream, once available, as I mentioned in another thread. Meanwhile, I have been driving it with a humble Fender Super Champ X2 15 Watt head. It sounds like a million $. The cleans are beautiful - so full and rich. Surprising for such an inexpensive piece of kit (but it is a Fender tube amp, at least as to channel 1). Channel 2 on the Fender head is all modeled sound, and I think probably solid state - I believe there are 16 choices. There is literally only one that I like and that is useful to me for overdrive/distortion (#13), but it sounds fabulous with both my MIJ 80's Squier Strat and LP Studio. Having previously played the head through the Fender SC112 80 cab, the difference is obviously dramatic now that I have this Mesa cab...
