I am still working on the mod , but need your opinions on how close did i come to?

awaiting your replies My Mesa Mates , Cheers.

Sounds like a III to me, mushy low end transients (not inherently bad but not like a IIC_+), what were your settings?

This captures a IIC+ perfectly to me, although I can't tell if his treble shift is pulled. My III+ sounds much closer to this with it not pulled but "the" IIC+ sound always has it pulled.

Well , The Settings are a bit weird as the mod i have made is a bit different , it includes connecting v2 with v3 directly , and this cancelled my clean channel , i will post the whole mod after i am totally done.

the treble pull shift is off , as when i pull it out , it feels more like iii than iic+.

i will be working on this issue the bass response specially , but trying some lower capacitors ( 800pf or lower ) also i will check the resistors of the pull deep and bass shift , may be changing them give the amp a more tight low end than being mushy as you said.

What did you do to make it a ++ out of interest?

A really good playthrough of a IIC++ and other IIC+s is done by this guy for comparison.

Check out his other videos definitely!

What do you guys think of this Black Stripe video with a IIC+ 105 transformer out of interest? Still got that III sound or more IIC+? (not me playing! Just thought I'd get one up for comparison)

It's hard to tell with the micing there but I think it's somewhere between what I've heard from IIs and IIIs. The pre section definitely sounds more III like to my ears but I'm only really going on how I think a II should sound.

Here's my III+ trying to ape the Metallica sound. It does TBA way better than it does Justice or Puppets.

The IIC++ vids etc. are me. You can get them to sound pretty close, but when you're a/b-ing them in the room there's no comparison. Sorry. The IIC+ FEEL is on a whole other level.

If you can't swing a C+, a loop modded IIB or an early III are still very good. Listening to your vid, it has that harsh fizz that you'll never really get rid of with a III, especially a blue or a green.

Hi GJgo,

How does your IIC+ compare to the JP2C?

Well, I sold the JP if that tells you anything. That said for live work I’d take the JP all day long. You can make the tone very similar and the JP has awesome features. For anything else however the feel of the C+ is far superior.
