Roadster 2x12 combo footswitch v1 vs. v2

Post by Roadster212 » Wed May 03, 2017 1:23 pm

Hey guys,
New to the board. Not sure if its still very active. I have had my Mesa Roadster 2x12 combo for about 10 years. I love it! Someone stole my footswitch at a gig this winter. I've been using the rotary switch to switch channels for a few gigs which is annoying. It seems that Mesa changed from the large 8 button footswitch CH1, CH2, Ch3, CH4, REV, MUTE, FX, SOLO all in a row with the silver aluminum top and bottom trim to an all black switch with two rows of buttons. Not sure the images with be posted but here are two links.

My question are two-fold:
1. Can the new version footswitch work with the old version? It looks like the cable might have been changed.
2. Does anyone know of a non-OEM option to switch the channels? These footswitches are huge and take up so much space on a pedal board!

The new foot controller is a direct replacement...nothing has changed but the size and shape. Thanks
