So my current living situation means that my control room or workstation is literally 4-5 feet from my amp- so recording a mic'd cab at proper volume gets brutal - So I picked up a Torpedo Live and have been running it through its paces with my Mesa Roadster. Its taking me a minute to get a solid warm fuzzy on who to tweak and dial in the sound in my head but thus far- I am absolutely blown away by the Torpedo.

this one is simply a jam thru using the Mesa Torpedo and a Maxon for a touch of boost.

This one is a third party impulse of a Mesa 2x12 cab - I hope to do a comparison with the real thing soon.

I know I'm late to the party here but I now have a Torpedo Live and it's pretty much a miracle solution for playing / recording guitars for anyone in an annoying living situation. I know it costs a bit more than a 4 x 12 -unless there is a dealer nearby- but it's seriously legit. I haven't started playing with Torpedo Wall of Sound III yet but even the hardware emulation is definitely very good. A live cab mic'd up does have more punch, dynamics, and sheen; but try explaining the noise to your neighbours!! haha!~ The bottom line is that you can crank an amp enough to get a great response and -with the latest firmware update- the latency is almost nonexistent. Truly a great piece of gear!
