Just got purple tolex DC 3.
Wow and wow. This amp is small in size but weighs a ton and delivers what generally 60-75 tube watts produces.
Bravo.
Mine is a revision A I assume.

i bought 2 years ago a DC-2 Studio Caliber late version with contour serial 3969 made in 1998 (thats what mesa told me). i love it, it´s fuc**ng awsome!!

i forgot to say that my board says DC-23C assuming the board is the same from the dc3 but it is c version? is this possible?

Hey folks. I picked up a DC-5 a few days ago. She sounds great and looks ok but she could use some TLC. I vacuumed the inside if the can & cleaned the tolex to bring back some life.

Serial is 02250. I think she's a B.

I decided to open her up and see if I can find a birthdate and how the circuit board is doing. It looks pretty darn clean. Board itself is very sturdy & heavy which is good. Wiring is tight & clean. Here's some pics. No date of production though.

I noticed the CB name was DC-510A. Does that mean mine is a version A amp? I thought it was a B because of the foot switch selecter difference in the back.

I sprayed the board lightly with some compressed air to get some dust off. I Also took off the knobs to get some dust off & plan to spray the pots with some lube.

I read somewhere that it's ok to spray the entire board with Deoxit or isopropyl alcohol to clean it. Is that true? I have the radio shack version of Deoxit.

It has the same ingredients.

What do you think about cleaning it? I don't think it needs it but could it hurt?

Thanks!

Hello Mesa DC users.

Mine is a rare DC-3 imbuya hardwood with a CV30 speaker. Serial number DC3-043xx. It's a revision B and the year ?... 1998 ? 1999 ?...

I have just changed all the tubes and it sounds amazing. 12AX7 Electro-Harmonix in V1, V2, V3, V4, and 12AT7 in V5 & V6. EL 844 JJ in the power amp. The power of this amp is incredible. Sure more than 35 Watts said by Mesa.

Here's some pics :

It looks beautiful and it's a rare finish I think

Just received an Email form Mesa for my DC-3 :

"Hello Theo,

Thanks for the message. Unfortunately we don't have accurate records for amps of that era. The DC-3 was made between 1994-1999, and based on serial number I would estimate your amp to be in the late 1998 range."

Reminder, my serial number is DC3-043XX

The serial # for my DC-5 is 02148. Can anyone shed some light on the year of this amp. It's a DC-5b.
