I have a Mesa Boogie F50 with 2 6L6s and 4 12 AX7s.

Lately when I play, after a few minutes the amp makes a horrible noise (nnnngggggggggggg) for about 5 seconds, then there's a slight pop and the amp makes no sound. After about 30 seconds, the volume comes back.

I bought the amp two years ago. Don't know when tubes were last replaced.

HELP!

Definitely don't run it anymore until you get it fixed!
I can't say for sure, but it sounds like a bad power tube plate resistor or a bad solder connection that is heating up.
Or...I had a DC-2 once that did this and it turned out to be the output transformer. It would play just fine at lower volumes, but would make the scariest noises when you cranked it.

Sounds like your amp needs to go to the Dr.
