Not long ago I picked up a Maxon OD808 to use with my Multi-Watt Dual Rectifier. I've been noticing that the pedal itself is acting like a pickup I guess is the way to explain it. I can tap on it and hear that tap through the amp. Is this normal?

Here is a video I just took of what I'm talking about.

That tapping around is coming from the speakers for sure.

Its hard to tell where the sound is coming from thru Youtube. But yeah... NO, that's not normal. Seems like there's a shielding issue somewhere. A cable maybe? Or the pedal?

I didn't think it was :(

Here are the cables I'm using:

Guess I should get some nicer cables.

For hum, buzz or crackling, I would suspect shielding. For tapping that translates to the signal, I'd go with microphonic component. Could be a piezo effect with a ceramic capacitor or other component.
