I went in to pick up an ES 335, instead I got a 2008 American Deluxe in exactly the color I was looking for. Guy brought all documentation in for it too. It's cool how things work out sometimes. Still want to get an ES, but it can wait for now. My GAS is cool for now.

Might swap the pups out for some Texas Specials, but so far I am really diggin it through the Recto the way she is.

The Deluxe is still my favorite series.

I've recently moved onto a first year Hwy1 and a ASAT Special but my US Deluxes draw me in every time.

I would try Texas Specials before you buy them. I just had them put in my Tele and they ruined it. All mids and no bass or thump. Way too bright and thin. I'm about to yank them out and put the stocks back in.
 
I happen to own the same guitar. I love the stock pups. It's a great playing and sounding guitar.
 
This thread is so old, I sold this guitar about 6 months ago.

It was a nice guitar when I had it, I will say that. I liked the tone of the stock Noiseless.
