very subtle differences on my PC speakers. But I liked the stiletto cab better. Little tighter. Held together better. Seamed to have better mid emphasis though not much more.

those samples are made by the user "metalaxe" and he did record a few more cabs, like the 1960AV, 1960DM, bogner and something else.

The user was Lasse Lammert... although he may go by another name if he posted the same clips on other forums.

Here's all of them if people want them.

crazy that all these cabs basically use V30s... the 1960 DM and Bogner def sounded to me like they had a couple of 1275s in them...???

thought the OS Recto cab ruled the Stiletto for this style!

The Marshall 1960DM has 70watt Celestion v30s in it while I'm assuming the Mesa 4 x 12s are newer ones with 60watt v30s. While speaker enclosure can really colour tone, perhaps the 70 and 60 watt v30s sound different? Let the rumour mill begin!

The Ubercab if left stock should be a X pattern of V30 and 75's.

Mesa said in a previous post that their V30s are unchanged, they're just listing their rating as 60w so that their ratings are consistent with the Celestion site. The cabs will be "updated" to 60w when the 70w stickers run out...

...screamingdaisy is right. The clips are from Lasse - he's a homeboy from here (northern germany) and bought three of these cabs (Marshall DM, Mesa Stiletto and Bogner Übershall cab) directly from me in our shop in Hamburg ;-)

...aaaand he's an awesome producer/sound engineer (
) and helps me with my band recordings http://www.myspace.com/retainmusic

The 2 mesa cabs sound almost indistinguishable and really dark.
The 1960dm sounds amazing and clear and well balanced. Really good to cut through a mix. I am extremely impressed with it.
The 1960av is almost the same cab as the 1960dm but sounds totally different. Kind of unclear to me.
The Bogner is my 2nd choice. It sounds really good but i still have to give it to the 1960dm.
I think the people that choose the mesa's are partial to mesas because they sound like garbage from those clips... too too dark. no definition

I don't like the Marshall DM clip at all. Sounds chalky and irritating.

I like the Stiletto and Recto cab the most here.

I honestly like the Recto the best, although, depending on what style music I'm going for, I could find a use for all of them except the DM cab. Sounds like ***, just like Dave does.

IMO,
Recto: Darker, a bit muffed, round sound but massive;
Stilleto: Good balance between the recto and the DM;
1960DM: Mean, too mids and sharp;
1960AV: Less definition, dont like the mid frequency but like the harmonics;
Uber: Agressive and tight but could have a bit more bass in the palm mute

Each one suits someone's tone, for we are many...
