Don't you hate it when you're listening to someones clip and you're just astonished by their quality? Then when you ask them what's their recording setup, they never respond. Lets try to get everyones recording setup here, from the mic stands to needy greedy software. :x

My setup:

Sometimes I'll use my old RP-10 direct into the VS. Other times, LSC with a Strat and a Les Paul.

As of now I use Sonar6 and really happy with it! For my in & out I have an M-Audio MobilePre USB (I know not the best) but far from the worse.

Future plans are to build a new PC (sometime after Christmas) and of course a better audio interface and I’m defiantly sticking with Sonar 6 probably upgrade to Sonar 6 Producer Edition. With Producer Edition I can correct a vocalist pitch and vibrato issues (and it sounds seamless).

Also just started using Addictive Drums, a nice little VST plug-in blows away EZ-drummer IMHO (cant always record live drums, but I would like too!)
Already have a nice assortment of microphones. But of course more is better

for practice, boss pedal board into sound card with ableton. I dont have any mics.
