Is the "phat mod" the only difference between V2 Triaxis'?

Mesa says that V2 Triaxis preamps from March 1997 until October 2004 have the phat mod:

I'm possibly interested in getting a used Triaxis, and if i do I want a V2 without the phat mod.

If the phat mod is the only circuit and sonic difference between V2 versions, I could not worry about which V2 I get and just find one in good condition for a good price and mod it if necessary to remove the phat mod. But is that all I have to be aware of?

Will a 2003 V2 Triaxis with the phat mod removed sound and function identical to a 1993 V2 Triaxis without the phat mod?

That link you posted kinda says it all. All the other modes sound the same on all TriAxis models except for Lead 1 Red.
